Getting acquainted.

Getting in and out of the car should be the easiest of activities. Bob still hasn't got the hang of it. He will insist on sitting in his sisters spot. Everyone has to get down and then repositioned before Sophie's complaints cease and we can get on our way.

Today we're off to see the new kennels. An hour and a bit away which is not ideal but not a deal breaker. It's set down a long, pot holed track. It's clean, secure and the woman who runs it seems sensible enough. Bob and Sophie ignore her and head off to chat with the other dogs. The angelic duo rejoin us long enough to be shown a guest suite. It reminds Angus of summer camp in Waymart, Pennsylvania.

Home for a long drink and a quick pre-dinner nap.

The man with anger management issues is out in his garden opening his swimming pool. The 'God will not be mocked' Calvinist in Angus knows that opening a pool in March is a sure sign that we will have a long wet and unseasonably cool summer.

Difficult to better this insight into education :

Alas, most of us this side of the pond have no idea what summer camp in Pennsylvania is like, so is that guest suite good or bad? Will the cuisine be up to the standard of the ROF? Will there be sausages?

My image of a summer camp in Pennsylvania come from that 1960's novelty hit which starts "Hello Mother, hello Father" but I'm assuming it was deemed a fitting temporary residence for the dear PONs?

A wholesome environment of log cabins and poison ivy. Thankfully, there;s no poison ivy at the kennels.

There are two types of kennel in France. One where the pens are small but the dogs are walked twice a day. This type the pens are a hundred square metres with a heated cabin to sleep in but they only get walked once a day.

Why is it Bob who is in Sophie's place? Can't Bob change places if he feels like it, and Sophie sit somewhere else?
We always have our first swim in March, every year.

That sounds luxuriously large for a boarding kennel run. Will they share a place, or do they get separate quarters?

As soon as I saw the first picture, even before reading, I thought, “Bob’s on the wrong side.”
Perhaps it’s his way of teasing his sister. Would a brother do that?

Thank you for the good laugh provided by the link.

Don't think the dogs have realised exactly what the visit means!

Love the link. Once had a student write about the Mrs Sipy river.
