A record of those unimportant little things that are too important to be forgotten.

'N' for Nesquick or Nutella.
The sun beams down all day. The warmth brings with it pilgrims. Not the solitary sort but groups of them. They saunter along the lane chatting and laughing. Bob stands on his stump seat to see what is happening on 'his' turf.
Pilgrims wear red. Why this is I don't know. They stop and chat to Bob. He chats back.
We've bought a long piece of green astroturf so that Sophie can walk out of the house without her paws being bothered by the gravel.
She's not bothered by the gravel. She does however make good use of the astroturf,. Not so much for walking on as a comfortable spot for sunbathing.
From the lustre of her nose I'd assume she's in a very good place.
The French have a foolproof way for vets to know the age of an animal. Each year is assigned a letter of the alphabet. 2017 is given the letter 'N'. 2016 was the letter 'M' which is why the Belgian ladys little dog is called Maverick Two. Dog owners are expected to give their animal a name starting with the letter of the year. Here's the list of suggested names for 2017.

Will there be a rash of dogs named 'Nigel' by their anti-EU owners this year?
I'm sure the pilgrims will feel uplifted after their chat to Bob. Sophie's nose really is one of the wonders of the natural world - how does she keep it so glossy? As to the dog names...well, how sad to call the family pet Nobody, Nissan, or Nescafé, or one or two others on the list !
This morning the high winds you've been having have made their way down here into Spain, and the sky looks threatening. Wouldn't you know it - I've just cleaned all the windows after the last deluge !
We thought Sophie was rolling the length of the turf.
We might be getting a puppy later this year so thanks for the tip on the names.
However, standing at the gate and shouting "Nostradamus, fetch!" doesn't sound too appealing.
Do the pilgrims wear red to let hunters see them, considering they're hiking through the countryside? Red seems better for visiting churches, vs. hunter orange.
As for the list of names, is Sophie ahead of her time? Is Bob a 2005 baby?
The red carpet is rolled out for very important people and the green for very important pups. As it should be. Sophie's nose sparkles with health. Would love to be able to pat it, if only once.
Interesting naming system. One of my cats died yesterday after a valiant fight with liver disease. Brave boy. An N name might be nice. But no Nescafé and certainly not a Nobody. The nerve!
Kari, I’m so sorry about the loss of your dear companion. Our Timothy was very brave, too and only grew sweeter as illness claimed him. I often wonder if I could match it when it’s time.
The astroturf looks like a complete success.
Kari, so very sorry to hear that you have lost one of your cats. No matter how many pets we have, each one is very special, and their loss is heart-breaking.
Nymphette, no way. Thanks for the laugh. Cheers.
I love those first two pictures of Sophie - lolling on her back and then the "WHAT?? You're watching me??" LOL!
Could the red for pilgrims be a symbol of the saint's martyrdom, as the shell is used symbolically on the trek?
By that French naming system ("Here, Nebraska." Um, no), shouldn't the PONs have different names?
Don't worry. The PONs stick to a Scottish naming system.
Thank you.
Thank you.
When I saw the title of your post, I thought the exotic foods' section of the supermarket was restocking fine American foods again. Interesting about the names, and some interesting names.
Sophie does look in fine form - Wonderful to see before they go to the k-e-n-n-e-l next week.
Having our beloved animals cross over 'that' bridge is always heart breaking. Please know our thoughts are with you.
Sophie does seem to enjoy the comforts of life you provide for her. Maybe not in the way you intended, but then a diva always has her own ideas!
Have a wonderful Trip ! We will all miss you.
