As the sun sets two PONs make a tour of the village. Bob bounces. Sophie saunters. Their owners follow along behind. Goats, frogs, horses and donkeys are inspected with sparkling eyes. The yappy poodle at the crossroads is ignored. Satisfied all is well brother and sister head home. They have a long drink and then fall asleep. Bobs tail wags. Is he dreaming of steak and chervil sauce ? He is certainly as happy as a French summers day is long. Sophie snores. She sleeps deep in the certain knowledge tomorrow is going to be even better.
The rich rhythms of a dogs life.

Bertie thinks it doesn't quite qualify as a Best Day Ever as it seems there was no kidney in the steak pie?
I thought Sophie was on a diet. Atkins, maybe?
They were small - in Sophie's case - very small - slivers. Bob who never puts on weight is surreptitiously fed more. The problems occur when Sophie works out her brother is getting 'illicit' treats.
What a posh dinner for you Bob. You are living the good life.
Bob and Sophie must be two of the luckiest dogs in the universe! I just hope my Lab doesn't find out that they get such wonderful treats - even if they are just slivers !
The quiet happiness ending Bob and Sophie’s day makes a lovely beginning to my day.
Just remembered to look at the link you provided. A very gracious gesture.
Steak with puff pastry and chervil sauce would have EVERY being in this household smiling.
Aways ! They seem to have the Best Dat Ever. And I liked the picture of Mr Bob He is the BEST!
In response to the link you provided: Bailey Bob was injured while on our road trip to Syracuse NY. He fell backwards trying to jump in our van, landing on his left hip. It happened on a Saturday evening. I phoned the B&B in Auburn, explained we would be late. When we arrived the owners were waiting outside for us. The husband opened the door to where BB and I were. He very carefully picked BB up, carried him to a soft patch of grass, talked and petted him, helped him stand, slowly walked him, picked him back up, and carried him to our room. The wife made BB an appointment with their vet first thing Monday morning. I am so grateful for all they did, and the kindness they showed us in our time of need. We are home, and Bailey Bob is almost recovered.
Bailey Bob - Speedy recovery! And a hearty thank you to the folks in Auburn for their kindness. Hope visting a strange vet wasn't too traumatic .
