City dwellers be amazed.

You know you're living in deepest France profonde ...

..... when the most exciting thing that happens is ...

..... the workmen arrive to repaint the zebra crossing and the speed bumps.

Bollards are laid out and paint applied.

Bob, sitting on his stump seat by the gate, is transfixed.

The workmen return in the afternoon to collect the bollards.

The little tike and his brother ride their bikes through the wet paint.

Sophie, exhausted by the drama unfolding outside the gate finally adopts her ' You guard. I'll sleep ' pose.

For the PONs this has undoubtedly been the best day ever.

The musicians seem to be enjoying playing this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JcDzRjMIDvo

You have a similar level of excitement to ours....

"Like watching paint dry" usually means something is boring, but this is the exception.

I hope that your speed bumps are the benign kind rather than the step up and down sort that are so unkind to the car.

I understand that kind of excitement - for me it is when a tanker floats past on the Clyde... YAM xx

Hmmmmmmm... is that a new urn to the right of Bob? Supervising road work is an exhausting job!

This would also be a very notable day here.

Or roll on her back.

Dealing with stress is an art form here.

The PONs watched , unblinking, for hours.

Our speed bumps are barely noticeable. They're only there because the department provided money for them. THE ' Every village should have a sleeping policeman ' approach to government finances.

The painting of the speed bumps takes place once ebery other year. Hopefully, you see tankers more frequently !

Old immovable urn bought at the Pottery Fayre.

"the drama unfolding outside the gate" -- best kind of drama, methinks, low-key and not alarming.

You seem to have much more exciting street theatre than we do...

...oh yes, at least once a week. We do get the council road sweeper van once a year though. That's always worth watching... Yxx
