Sophie chases across the village green after a cat. Following a tense 'standoff' with the hissing intruder she gets her head wedged between the town hall railings and a flower pot. There is an almighty 'howling'.
After being freed the family diva gives me her '' You took your time " look. The cat is long gone.
So starts a Friday morning in deepest, deepest France profonde.

I get the howling 'can you help me' calls from my cat at 3am as she is trapped in the closet, or lonely in the spare room. I imagine it sounds similar to Sophies call. I am glad that her head was fine.
Best Photo Ever!!! Looks like Sophie gave it her all:-)

Oh, my, goodness . . . I am impressed you could hold the phone steady to capture the moment.
Some moments have to be immortalized.
Poor Sophie! I had a very nice laugh out loud moment when I saw her picture! 😂
Telling myself it's unkind to laugh, but < guffaw >.
Sophie would be furious if she knew you had posted this moment of indignity for all to see!
I am late in thanking you again for your earlier mention of Tailend. Dinner there was a high point of our visit to St. Andrews last week. We also stumbled across Toppings on our way back from visiting the University's sports center, and our kids went crazy there - it is somehow a very enticing bookstore. Our son fell unexpectedly hard for the University, so we'll have to see where this all leads. Cherry meanwhile is still at the K-E-N-N-E-L-S, but we bought her a toy in London at BowWow - "for dogs who shop in Covent Garden" - so hopefully she'll forgive us.
Glad you liked Tailend - not fancy but very Scottish. For book lovers Toppings is like a little bit of heaven on earth . The town is unlike anywhere else - small and safe and old. Edinburgh has more of a buzz but is an altogether different experience. Hope the weather was good.
PS When talking about St Andrews this always makes me smile : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGcNswofnOU&t=92s
