Wednesday morning challenges.

For a girl brought up in the French countryside a walk on the beach can be a challenge.

The problem is that waves creep up on you when you have your back turned or find yourself distracted by the antics of a brown and white spaniel called Charlie.

The best thing to do is pretend nothing has happened and head onto dry land as fast as you can.

It takes a diva to carry this off with aplomb.

At the Good Coffee Cafe there's competition for the dog biscuits the staff hand out. The unadulterated cheek of it !

After all that excitement Sophie heads home for a protracted bout of battery recharging. Who knows what the rest of the day has in store ?

Easter is over and now retailers turn their attention to the Coronation. Here's the 1st of many e-mails that will be heading towards us today  :https://www.bettys.co.uk/the-coronation

Interesting that the 'Betty's' offering includes a Coronation Lebkuchen. A nod to Charles' German ancestry?

WFT - Or provides a surface that's flat and easy to decorate with a crown ?

Poor Sophie, this is not a good start to a best day ever, with sneaky waves and competition for treats at the Good Coffee Café. Sensible of her to have a good restorative nap.

Oh Sophie, such is life - how to maintain one's dignity and poise in the face of surprises and distractions? As always, you do it beautifully.

I hope there are pastries in her dreams this morning
