A record of those unimportant little things that are too important to be forgotten.

It is easier to be wise for others than ourselves.
The first time in six months that I've had to wear a jacket on the morning walk. Three layer weather. Autumn with its chills well and truly here. The forecast calls for rain through the weekend then a return to warm weather next week. We'll see. The local weather forecast is a surefire contra-indicator.
Down by the the stream the sunflowers , shrivelled and brown, are a sorry sight. They'll be harvested as soon as they dry out . The rain sodden stems too tough for the combine blades to cut. Sophie is energized by this cooler weather. She wanders round the garden excavating while her brother watches. He prefers to save his energy and chase any of the Old Farmers cats that wander into the orchard. Angus is left to wonder how the two of them can have so much vim and vigour. We can't remember previous family dogs being this active. There again perhaps we're the ones that are slowing down.
In the supermarket packs of Oreo flavoured chocolate on special, three for two, offer. Who knew Oreo's were so international ?

Oreo Milka chocolate is fab. Not quite as good as Dime bar Milka chocolate, but fairly fab!
Those PONs do seem to have boundless energy...perhaps they've been having sneaky shots of adrenaline?!
Has Sophie reached Australia yet?
To quote yesterday's blog title: "the most wasted of days is one without laughter" - that first photo did it for me !!
I'm sure you know that the Oreo is the junk food centerpiece of the American diet, so I looked up Oreo Milka Bars--You can't get them here, which is too bad, it looks like something "we" need to try.
I agree with you about the energy of younger dogs--That's another reason why we take in the seniors, they are easier to keep up with.
Enjoy your day!!
I sat here and laughed out loud. I did.
that little head in that hole.
all I can say is . . . NEVER walk your grounds in the dark!
and then those little muddy paws on both in flight to new adventure.
they're still very much puppies. with puppy energy! with grandparents for owners? VERYYOUNGGRANDPARENTS!!!!
xo
Oops. That is an impressive crater Sophie. Did you meet Merlin half way down?
I think the sunflowers reflect exactly how I feel when the sun is absent!

Having just had a 5 & 7 year old for the weekend, I'd like to vote for us doing the slowing down. Still recovering.
Go Sophie go!
They make them much peppier now than in our day.
Mine have been digging holes in the front yard too, O the Dirty faces.
Is that Sophie's ostrich pose?
Do B&S like Oreos?
