A record of those unimportant little things that are too important to be forgotten.

Everything in life comes to you as a teacher. Pay attention. Learn quickly.
Not a good year for Buche de Noel. The young bakers display cabinet full of them. Priced at €44.95 each. He's rather optimistically made fifty and so far sold three. The austerity that's affected the rest of the world has been slow in coming to France. It has now now arrived. '' There's bound to be a rush on New Years Eve " says 'the font' brightly as the bakers wife wraps up a red fruit sponge. The young baker and his wife both shrug their shoulders in unison. Angus sees a Buche de Noel on tomorrow mornings shopping list.
A day without grooming and Bob and Sophie are looking particularly unkempt. A PON's winter coat is a thick and quickly tangled thing. Not that they are in the least bit bothered. They spend their morning digging holes and ineptly chasing blackbirds. A great start to the week.

Coats de Noel!
At this stage in the festive season, even those of us with a taste for the sweet and highly calorific are thinking "oh no, not more cake".
Cheers, Gail.
Too expensive for us......the Aussie dollar just went down again.
XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
Save me a slice of your Buche de Noel....pretty please.
45€ she squeaks in horror! That's two meals out at the local restaurant! No wonder he hasn't sold many. Do you think there will be a 70% reduction after New Year to make way for the Galettes de Roi?
They took like wee doll beds with head and foot boards of chocolate. Yummy to be sure, but a bit too pricey! Wishing you , the Font, and those two wonderful pups a happy and healthy New Year.
so sad for the young bakers. each looks like a little work of art. i could not afford that for an edible work of art . but I still appreciate them as such!
here's hoping there are more angus and fonts in your village. you are wonderful people.
and now that I've thoroughly embarrassed you . . .
i'll mention how huge those little puppies look on that rooftop! LOL. are you sure they're not still growing? XOXO
Yes you will buy one of those cakes.
Just one Buche? I think at least five would be better!
How about you buy all the Buche de Noels left, slice them--one or two pieces each, wrap them, ship them all over the world? We'd love a little piece of sweet from your corner of France.
Happy New Year to all.
The Buche Noel are hopelessly expensive! I bought a frozen one this year. Maybe a collection could be taken up and, with the bakers
discount, the seniors in homes or
aging in poverty could enjoy such a delightful and impossible. treat. I've
not ordered my simple treat of
chewy, coarse cut marnmalade
this year, the shipping being awful!!!
We old cat ladies have had to pull
our belts to the tightest notch, and
even then...
