Entertainment.

Sophie entertains herself by first licking, then scratching, then eating the lime plaster on the wall by the front door. She also employs this technique on the skirting board.

Banished outside she plays tug of war with her brother. She then savages him. There's time afterwards to bark at pilgrims.

For her this is all in all a very satisfying start to the day .

Sophie looks so pretty, I think there must be something in the plaster that keeps eyes bright and tails bushy.

Being a border collie may take on a new significance…..

Hmm, I hasn't tried plaster yet.

I hope the plaster doesn't make Sophie sick with an upset stomach....she is something else isn't she?

I wonder if this is the canine version of PICA? Perhaps she needs more lime jello in her diet?

My childhood dog (a terrier) chewed a large hole in the plasterboard. She also ate my baseball glove. Both with no ill effects to the dog, other than stern talking to by her human family. Is Sophie doing this out of boredom or does the taste appeal to her?

My Shih Tzu chews the plaster board I do not like that but it is my life with dogs!

It is very obvious - SOPHIE is not pleased with the visitors from North Dakota. Yes, that's it!

Someone ( ie a certain PON princess ) doesn't like altering her routing or sharing the limelight with visitors.

Yes, that is life with dogs.

Certainly not boredom. Irritation with houseguests is a possibility. A ravenous appetite mixed with a penchant for mischief is the most likely answer.

Sophie would certainly be happy with lime jello added to her diet . In fact she'd be happy with anything added to her diet. This girl is permanently ravenous.

Sophie was born with a cast iron stomach.

That day will come.

Plaster, sausages, anything left on a table within reach. They all combine to make that nose wet and shiney.

We'll know soon enough.
