Another victory.

Sophie watches as her brother picks up a partially destuffed lamb that had been hidden in the laurel hedge. He heads off into the garden with it.

She is not pleased that he has it and she doesn't.

Bob feigns deafness. A necessary brotherly trait when living with Sophie.

The village looking very spruce with its freshly painted speed bumps.

On our morning walk Sophie finds that the drainage ditch by the crossroads is full of windfall pears. She likes the overly ripe ones. I fear we may see more of the overly ripe pears as the day wears on. Bob, a more fastidious eater, sniffs the pears but leaves them well alone.

In the wine shop they've got a special on Bekaa Valley Lebanese Chardonnay. The wine shop has an international selection but it is usually entirely empty.  This is based on the view that if it's not French it's not wine. Today, however, they have the six bottle of Lebanese wine and a solitary bottle of Chianti. We feel sorry for the Chianti and buy it.

The matron at Loics home phones 'The Font'. Loic is fine, relaxed, his insulin levels are under control and he's eating again. His mother is still in the hospital. He gets driven over to see her twice a day. Loic insists on taking the phone and talking to 'The Font' . He says that he'll be back to blow the leaves 'just as soon as he's better'. This is another of life's little victories.

''You see a lot of smiles".  I'm now a fan of 3D printers . Make that a BIG fan : https://twitter.com/Channel4/status/910799342423957505

Good news regarding Loic - my faith in the social safety net in at least your corner of France remains undiminished. Good luck with the pears!

What great news about Loic. I would be that notwithstanding his unhappy place at the moment he misses the dynamic duo

So pleased to hear the news from Loic.

Very pleased Loic is well again and back home. Great pic of Sophie vocalising. Enjoy the chianti.

Meant to add that 3D printing fellow is a real hero.

So glad Loic is getting on.
That's a wonderful video. Doctors also used 3D printing to replace a woman's skull--it allowed the artificial skull to be exactly the right size and shape.
As for wine, the French are right.

Oh your page is full of good and moving news today (that 3D prosthetic is beyond precious - and yaay for Loic)... though pawhaps Mlle Sophie is drawn to the pears due to 'fermentation' something equivalent to Lebanese wine??? YAM xx

Good to hear that Loic is OK. The 3D prosthetic printer is remarkable and how good that it's used to give children a better life. The man deserves a medal, and our support.

So nice to have a good news day! Cheers from sunny Vancouver, BC where we think with our recent rains we might have a handle on our provincial fires.

I love that Loic wanted to speak to The Font himself! So glad he's feeling better.

How kind of you to rescue that sad, lone Chianti. And such good news about Loic.
I continue to be amazed that 3-D printing even exists, much less what people are now doing with it.

Chianti rescuers...lol. We saw the 3-D story on the news. Incredible how cheaply he can provide them. I suppose, sadly, with all the unrest and natural disasters, he'll have a thriving business.

Does Sophie hide the toys in the hedge?

I too, enjoyed when you said you got the single bottle of Chianti. Good for you!
Happy that Loric is back on the mend ... and the Font is on "the Bridge". (in control and in demand. Sorry old Star Trek talk by me.) ha ha
Hugs to all !
