Little black bags. The ' must have ' accessory for any dog owner. Not only are they great for dealing with their intended purpose but they're also ideal for scooping up potentially lethal mushrooms, road kill, the vole the owl dropped last week and anything else that Sophie might have in her jaws and be attempting to swallow.
We now order our black bags in bulk off Amazon. British black bags come scented , the French ones aren't. I wonder why ? Are the noses of British dog owners more sensitive than those of their neighbours across the Channel ? Another mystery of dog ownership.
Sophie continues her recovery. There must be something about the medication she's on. The little angel has developed the appetite of a ravenous lion. She hoovers up her food and would eat Bob's if he didn't stare her down.

Scented or unscented both available here in Scotland. Hard to say whether the smell of the scented ones is nicer or worse than dog poo...
Good idea. I am so glad that she continues to improve.
Love the second 'tug of war' picture.
Angus, may I email you? There is a link to my email address on my profile, but I don't think I can access yours.
Have a great day.
Glad to see Sophie is improving, and eating for France.
We use nappy disposal bags, which are nicely scented. Their only shortfall is that they are not opaque so they don't disguise the contents of what you're carrying !!
If she's eating that much...there can't be too much wrong.
XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
I get my nappy bags when they're on discount in Noz. We use them because the "dear" Kitties seem to think that the entire cellar floor is their litter tray. Sigh.
They are scented. But not very pleasant for all that.
Our kitchen trash bags are even scented now, finding them without is proving almost impossible--I wonder what will be thought of next?
Just looking at the mushrooms in the photo gives me a sense of dread...they have poisonous written all over them.
Sophie hoovering up her food made me smile....she's definitely on the mend.
for "hoover" puppies everything goes in the mouth! you'll have the cleanest area in France! so glad she is recovering at warp speed!
xoxo
Is Sophie on Prednisone? Vets often give it for inflammation and it increases hunger. When my dog is on it her appetite is insatiable. She lies by her food bowl moaning pitifully.
Is Sophie on cortisone? It increases the hunger like with no limits in PONs... My PON girl 'The Mop' has been on cortisone for many years for her allergies. When it was started it was crazy how she would eat everything (including hyacinth bulbs which are poisonous), then it got a little bit easier as she got used to it but still she will hoover down anything that resembles food. And a whole lot of things do in the eyes of a hungry PON!
Is she on some kind of steroid medication? If she is, I sympathize with her! It made me feel like I could eat the whole house for a snack. I'm glad she's still on the mend!
Keep calm and hoover on!
Sopherl (viennese version) is well - that is the only important things that matters - so happy all turned out so well! Love from Southern Italy Susanne, Daisy and Kiri
Your last sentence is hilarious.
Ohhhh I read it as eat BOB if he didn't stare her down! Ha!
my mum said that if Sophie is on prednisone/cortisone she (m mum) has great sympathy for her. Mum has taken much prednisone over the years for many reasons and says she felt like Sophie -- thee was never enuf food. As soon as she finished one meal she was thinking about the next!!!! Did not do much for her 'girlish' figure@@
Hope sophie continues to improve (sorry for all typos -- mum has a cast on her hand and she wont let us pets try using pc!!!!
Those mushrooms look like the creatures from War of the World. Shudder.
We use Bio Bags here. No perfume, but they mask odor completely. Biodegradable, too. Supposedly.

Glad Sophie continues to improve. My vote's for unscented bags -- the scented ones are made with volatile chemicals, so they're adding just that much more toxicity to the environment. Checking Pamela Terry's link for BioBags, although I can use recycled grocery-store bags so far.
Good
We use Mutt Mitt's. Flanged lower section is double thickness to decrease the tactile sensation of the task. Can accommodate larger tasks with ease. Do take a look at them.
I've been gone for a wee bit - having only to come back to read your posts. Oh dear!! Poor Sophie - so glad things are on the mend and she's turned the corner. Those mushrooms!! Who knew they could be so deliciously tempting to a darling pup...
Sophie! Glad you're feeling better! Pred? I'm on it too and can't get enough - of anything!! -Bart
Thank you. I will. The double thickness flanged lower section caught my eye .
You could read it either way and it would be true ! She is one hungry lady.
The poor girls got a mountain of tablets to take. Only another couple of days and the inflamation should be gone and the ravenous hunger with it.
