Whither the roses ?

The morose lads show up, unexpectedly, with a trailer load of materials. They move the cement mixer and unload a large pile of sand and gravel into the courtyard. Bob climbs to the top of the pile then christens it.

Sophie keeps an eye on the builders from behind the safety of the peony bushes.

Before the morose lads leave they are 'encouraged' into a game of throw the furry fox. Bob has got them well trained. According to the most lucid of the morose lads they plan to be here for three weeks. Bob will be delighted . '' Hope those roses don't get in the way " the lucid one says while clambering back into his truck.  Angus considers locking himself into the office with a bottle of MacAllan for the duration.

We think the roses may be history....won't matter what colour they are.

Three weeks with the morose lads - Bob will be exhausted after all those games with the furry fox! If you can you persuade Sophie to join in, she'll shed those extra kilos.
We, too, fear for the roses.....

PONs, builders and roses. What could go wrong ?

The morose lads have been told to be careful and not damage the roses. 'Careful' may of course not be a word they recognize.

I hope you don't mind but I've used one of your photos on my blog (https://fatdormouse.wordpress.com/2015/05/19/introducing-bob-and-sophie/) as I wanted to let people who read my blog know about the joys of Bob & Sophie. If it's a problem, please let me know and I'll take the photo/link down.

Are they worried the roses will jump out and get them?

I think the roses will be just fine once Madame Font comes out and warns the morose lads to be very careful with her roses.
Bob my dear fellow, good on you for christening your territory.....Brownie admires your spirit.

You might want to consider two bottles of Macallan.

Bob is so cute sleeping beside his furry fox. He's a cracker of a dog.
