Money well spent.

It pours with rain. 'The Font' heads off to Toulouse to buy some smoked salmon. Angus and the PONs elect to stay at home. The PONs race round the garden demonstrating the amazing ability of their coats to absorb water.  They are 'encouraged' inside.

Sophie is introduced to her new dou-dou.

This latest arrival is an immediate success. Sophie patrols the house with her new best friend. Sometimes she throws it in the air. Other times she pounces on it. Occasionally she'll run up and down the length of the upstairs hall swinging it from side to side. Mostly she just happily savages it while making ferocious growling noises.

Every half an hour or Angus is prodded with a cold wet nose. This is Sophie's way of reminding him that his purpose in life is to stop what he's doing and throw her new found friend so that she can chase after it.

Bob is not invited to participate. In fact he is actively discouraged. He sits patiently at the front door waiting for the rain to ease off and for 'The Font' to return.

Sophie's enthusiasm for Lamb continues until bedtime. She gives it one last profound savaging before turning in for the night.

So passes a wet summers day with two housebound PONs. Angus can't help but think that the nine Euros invested in the stuffed lamb was money well spent.

Being Sophie's New Best Friend is evidently about as enviable a position as being New Prime Minister in the UK just now...

It lasted till bedtime - wow ! All Sophie's toys should come with a tracker device, then you'll know exactly where she's hidden them.

Dogs enjoy their toys far longer than kids do.

Pictures of a happy Sophie and Bob's beautiful eyes have made it a good morning here.

Despite the distance, your days seem to be unfolding much like our own.
Ah, summer.

Don't worry. That is a bust of Seneca that has been dragged around the world for the last forty years.

We think Bob is just biding his time until he has control of the lamb....

I love it when a dog is happy with their new toy! Such a joy to watch them play.
