Arctic conditions.

Monday. The angelic duo make it plain that it's time for our morning walk.

While I get ready Sophie has a quick nap. A diva can never skimp on beauty sleep.

Bob wakes her and plants a quick kiss on his sisters cheek.

Then we're off. We wave at the usual cast of characters. Young garagiste, late running school secretary, farmers in their white vans. Two new horses in the race horse hotel. Bob has been busy following a scent and nearly jumps out of his skin when he sees them.

Up here on the ridge it's bright and sunny. Down in the little market town there's a bone freezing mist.

We have a quick coffee and a bowl of water and return home. The PONS seem completely oblivious to the arctic conditions. One of the benefits of having not one but two thick layers of fur.

This morning Loic enters hospital . He will be having a  barium meal. Although she's busy the matron of his home dropped him off at the hospital at 7:30 and took him to his room and stayed until he'd settled in. The nurses all told him their names. Kindness at the start of the week. The true way of the world.

From her tweets you wouldn't know how important this lady has become in passing the tax bill : https://twitter.com/SenatorCollins?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor

Hope all goes well for Loic. He is in good and caring hands by the sound of it..... and he gets ice cream. Arctic conditions in France. 28 degrees in Melbourne and where we live in NSW: arctic almost: wearing a Polo neck jumper today.......... it is supposed to be late Spring.

Hoping the stay in hospital goes well for dear Loic.
So nearly so glorious for Scotland on Saturday evening...
Cheers, Gail (who does not need reminding of typical November evening conditions in this part of the world!)

I wonder whether Loic's long-unnoticed diabetes contributed to his bad eyesight. Poor guy. I hope his hospital stay goes well.

All the best for Loic.

Same weather here - Max could use some of the warmth that Bob and Sophie get from their coats.

Senator Collins has done many exceptional things for the less fortunate people in Maine, that I've read that you only hear about from a friend or a relative of the person she's helped. I'd give her an A as a Senator where the average grade is a D.

Little does Loic realize that well-wishers 'round the world are thinking of him. Let us hope this is the last of his tests. The post-test meal usually compensates for the meager one given before.
Susan Collins is one of my favorite senators, a voice of reason and compassion. Meanwhile another politician I admire, Angela Merkel, is in trouble. I hope she can survive somehow. Europe needs her, but it seems her voice will be diminished.

The air warmed nicely in the Hutch on Saturday evening, due to energy expended shouting at the telly screen. Those rugger boys weren't listening though. Meanwhile, this Monday afternoon looks much as it did then... and as your town square does here! I add my fond wishes for Loic. YAM xx

Angus,
Thank you for ensuring me about your fur babies. I am a long time follower of your blogs. I go back when it was called Life in Italy. I have prayed for all your fur babies everyday and their owners. Just don't won't anything to happen to them.
I feel you understand where I am coming from. I won't worry anymore.

Good luck to Loic. He needs to get well quickly - there are leaves to blow into piles at the ROF, and waiting PONs to demolish them !
Still good weather here, just down the road from you, Angus, no coat needed on the afternoon dog walk in glorious sunshine. Heating on tonight, though the radiators are turned down a notch or two.

What is the "race horse hotel", is someone housing retired racers?
While I'm happy to see Sen. Collins apparently doing the "right" thing, as a former constituent I do recall that she has a habit of voting party line at inconvenient times. Still, fingers crossed.
