A quiet fifth birthday.

Bob and Sophie enjoy a quiet fifth birthday. There is chicken for dinner. This alone would mark it out as one of the best days ever. The presence of a large absent minded tabby cat that wanders into the garden in the late afternoon seals the deal. What better way to celebrate than sitting at the bottom of an oak tree with a c-a-t in its branches ?

The shoe shop in the little town not only sells and repairs shoes it also makes keys. The owner doesn't think that this combination is in any way unusual. The PONs and their master go to collect some keys. Opening time is 10:00. At 10:30 we give up waiting for him. There is always tomorrow.

It's windy. Sophie finds a sheltered spot in the sun for a restorative mid-morning doze. Big brother stands on his stump seat to guard against passing tractors. The tractor drivers wave at him. Head on into the gale Bob is looking decidedly unaerodynamic.

This morning 'The Font'' heads off to London at first light. The French lady oil company executive signed a new lease on the rental flat in October. She has used the three month break clause in the lease to announce that she and her company are returning to Paris because of the uncertainty surrounding Brexit. This is a tedious development. The agent has found a new tenant - a Chinese family who want to move in asap - but would like a Chinese style kitchen installed. No one is quite sure what this means. It conjures up images of flaming woks. We shall soon find out.

Happy birthday to the dynamic duo. Time speeds away doesn't it.

Tenants here would be unlikely to make any demands like that as flats are in high demand.

Happy birthday to Bob and Sophie. We hope they enjoy their next year as much as the previous five.

Happy Birthday Bob and Sophie - we've all enjoyed sharing your first five years, so much. What fun you've had, and what pleasure you've given us.
How annoying that the prospective Chinese tenants want a Chinese style kitchen. That would mean another change when they move out, and the next ones move in - unless they are Chinese too.

A very Happy Birthday to Bob and Sophie. Five years already. Also thinking of Wilfie Pon this morning.

Five. Incredible. Seems like two at the most. Seeing the behaviour of these two we're certain in some strange way that PONs never die. They simply go away, recharge their batteries and then reappear with new tricks and mischief. It's uncanny how much Bob in temperament ( looks are a different matter ) is like Wilf, Sophie like Digby and they in turn like their predecessors.

Five years! Time flies.
I thought all French cobblers also made keys. And license plates. Though not all locksmiths fix shoes. It could be one of those logic tests.

Keys/engraving/cobbling are all one in OZ. Have never checked here in the Bonny Land to see if it is the same, but am guessing by your observation that it they are probably kept separate...no, wait. Timpsons.

There are some very lovely modern designs for Chinese kitchens; but you could be right about the flaming woks scenario. Good luck with that one.

Last and most importantly; HAPPY BARKDAY BOB AND SOPHIE!!! YAM xx

Happy Birthday, Bob and Sophie! And Bob, you are looking exceptionally adorable today. Sort of a Guard Dog/Teddy Bear! Guessing that since The Font is away, there may be sausages or bacon today to celebrate!!

Happy Birthday, boy time sure flies. Vancouver has a huge chinese population, as for a chinese kitchen it is most certainly for flaming woks!
Lovely smells but the oils can linger. Make sure you have a heavy duty extraction hood/fan.

Adding my two paws to a very happy barkday for the dynamic duo.
I like yesterday's suggestion that you take a photo of Bob on the very old chair, to mark it forever as "his". Although best not, perhaps, to let museum-type people know.
If my neighbors in a building had flaming woks, I'd worry about fire danger.

Love Bob's windswept look. Can't believe it has been five years already. Chicken is a great way to celebrate.

Happy Birthday Bob and Sophie. Five years of Angus, "The Font" and so many people around the world smiling at your daily antics definitely deserved a chicken celebration dinner and the presence of a c-a-t in your garden!
