Good taste or bad ?
Angus presses the wrong button on the keyboard and wipes out the blog. After much effort it is recovered - all bar the last months posts. In trauma terms this ranks up there with the time Angus wiped out his gmail accounts.
Bob watches and listens .
Outside he gives his sister her morning kiss. She accepts this in pained silence.
We head to the little market town for our morning croissant. Despite it being autumn the newsagent still has his post card selection out on display. Angus wonders how many tourists buy a card during the year. Ten ? Twenty ? The selection never seems to change and some have started to yellow. This goes well with their curling edges. There are rugby replays on the television in the bar. Angus and the PONs linger to watch replays of England v Argentina. The barman brings over a second croissant. The PONs know that this is definitely the very best day ever.
Jacques Chirac the old President has passed away. Citroen the car company has a full page ad in the weekend supplements wishing him a good trip. We are unsure whether this commercialization is charmingly good taste or abhorrently bad.
Paris Match informs us that Meghan is not conforming to the rigid rules of the British royal family. It seems that some British newspapers have taken an arch dislike to her. She seems like a breath of fresh air. The French are fixated on all things to do with the royal family in a way few Brits are.
This piano playing is really rather wonderful :

Angus, we did wonder what happend to your blog this morning but are so glad you are back and able to post again. I can account for three post cards sent receently from Europe as two of my mother's New Zealand friends take the time to buy postcards and stamps, then find postboxes, to very kindly send postcards to my mother (who has dementia) whenever they go on holiday. To the rest of their freinds and family they use technology, but for mum holding a hadwritten message in her hand (to look at, read and reread and show people) is so much better than transient words via the internet or phone which might disapear or get lost due to user error or as technology changes.
I noticed the missing posts and believe me there was panic this end. You must have been relieved to recover most of the blog, and it's a salutary reminder of why I like to order a hard copy 'blog book' every year. But now of course you have us all wondering which button did you press?
Cheers, Gail.
PS The issues with Meghan and sections of the British press are sadly all too predictable.

...is this the time to tell Angus that I back up my blogs on a regular basis using the 'back up blog' button (dashboard>settings>other)? Every second weekend. Habit.
Then again, that same page is where the 'delete blog' button is...
On other notes, the piano was indeed lovely. YAM xx
I am sure the look on my face was similar to the look on Bob’s face, after reading your first paragraph. Thank you for everything you did to get us all reunited. So happy it was a double croissant morning! You, Bob, and Sophie deserved an extra treat.
The local newsagents cards have that 1960's feel to them which hints that this little corner of France may not have that many visitors !.
Lesson - once gone they're gone for ever !
Why oh why is the delete button so easy to access ?
Bob listened in horror to some of the language that was being used.
