In the newsagents window a scale model of a DeLorean from 'Back to the Future'. Put together, we guess, from parts in one of those self assembly monthly magazines . The type that woo the unexpected in at $1 for the first three copies before suddenly rising to $20 once they have their target audience hooked. A sales pitch much adored by eleven year old males. Angus wonders how long (and at what cost) it took for the finished product to see daylight.
Later today 'The Font' and Angus are heading off to Greece. The PONs may ...
..... or may not have guessed that a trip to the K-E-N-N-E-L-S is on the cards.
Bob does his Mr.Glum act.
Sophie sits behind a hall chair and does her ' I'm a perfect companion. Take me, Leave him ' routine.

As a foreigner I'd have to say there's only one candidate who's thought through the issues that are shaping the 21st century. Of course there's not a hope of him getting any further : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOesZJ4mHZs

It's a sad 'goodbye' today for me (and Bertie). When we board the ferry at Hook of Holland tonight it will in all likelihood be the last time we set foot on mainland Europe as EU citizens.
Enjoy Greece.
Cheers, Gail.
They do seem to know, don't they. For our most recent trip, Cherry went off to her trainer's house (he kindly boards her) the night before so we didn't have to bring up the much-hated suitcases until after she'd gone. Have a wonderful trip.
A sad moment I'll share in a weeks time. The immigration signage at Toulouse has already been changed in readiness. In the longer term it may not of course be the last time that we set foot on the continent as EU citizens.

Safe travels. The PONs might not be so glum if some tripe treats were included in their packing... YAM xx
Andrew Yang seems wonderful, but ahead of his time. For now, I am in Elizabeth Warren's camp. Talking to people back home, it seems that sexism is still OK, so I think she doesn't stand a chance either.
Actually I like almost all the Democratic candidates. Almost (what is Steyer doing there?)
Have fun in Greece!
We pack in secret silence and take the bags down the back stairs. A dog owners guilt trip.
There will be chicken for lunch - another sign of owner guilt complex.
As you say ahead of his time. AI, the fourth industrial revolution, paying for healthcare - there's a couple of candidates who seem to be able to look forward and provide answers for the folks who are hurting in MI, OH and PA.
Wishing you a wonderful and guilt free trip!
The Laurel and Hardy clip made me laugh out loud...but the article about the new real ID made me snort my coffee. The writers cheerful "easy as that" comment proved not so true for me (of the hyphenated last name) who recently schlepped from one government office after another for an entire day. It was a battle even with six valid forms of ID. Apparently the US government still does not approve of my (long standing) hyphenated and 'feminist' shennigans. One 90 year old woman without a passport, but possessing only an ancient social security card and 65 year old marriage licence, was on the same journey as myself that day. I question if the poor dear ever got her new card. Perhaps she's still waiting with cobwebs forming.
May you and The Font have safe travels, and delightful “Greek Adventures”! I will think of Bob and Sophie, having their own adventures, at Canine Camp!
In our house, it is the suitcase that is the give away. The dogs always become glum and clingy.
Safe travels and I hope all is well when you return!!
