Challenging.

Some mornings can simply be exhausting.

Overly attentive cows ...

.... en masse, can ruin the start to any day.

The best thing for a girl to do is regain her composure by fishing for minnows.

Yesterday, some more wine was delivered, Loic came to blow leaves and a new television arrived from the electronics shop. Today will be spent trying to get Netflix working. In a corner of France where the internet connection is channeled along a copper wire this may prove to be 'challenging'. Our 30 minutes pre-dinner with a glass of wine and an episode of Parks and Recreation has now come to an end. We've seen every one of the seven seasons in the box set.  We've also seen all of Modern Family and have tried Portlandia and a series set in Philadelphia starring Danny de Vito. These latter two failed to entertain and were abandoned early.

Even in our little cornier of rural New Zealand we have excellent broadband, delivered via a tower on some distant hill. It is proved by a local company based in a town about an hour away. Their help desk is manned by polite young men who seem to have endless patience with older ladies who might ring up complaining that their internet doesn't work, when the problem was said older lady might have been dusting her lap-top and accidentally turned off her wi-fi. Something to do with a little blue light on the computer. They have been known to ring up and see how their service is and can they improve it in any way. Also, very reasonably priced. The downside is we have yet to have cell phone coverage. To receive a text from say a bank, one has to drive 15 to 20 minutes, one way.

oh yeah, Sophie and me, kindred hair...

Do residents of the ROF have access to BBC iPlayer? Lots of binge-worthy content there. I just completed a mega-watch of a new(ish) Australian series called The Heights. Yes, still a soap, but waaaaaaay better than the two famous ones.

We have become addicted to La Casa de Papel ( Money Heist). It's available on Netflix dubbed into english. Created by Alex Pina who also made White Lines. Some excellent drama from Spain.

I've never been a fan of soaps or American TV series. Now I find that I've seen all my favourite detective series more than a couple of times too, so am looking for something new to view over the coming dark winter nights. I've found there is a limit to how much TV I can watch - even Wildlife and Nature programmes bore after a third or fourth viewing! Perhaps I've begun to develop the attention span of a gnat....!
Those cows do look ferocious!

IMHO The Office and Seinfeld never fail to entertain...

Schitt's Creek and The Good Place are highly recommended.

OMG! I haven't been able to comment on your blog in months and months and have never been able to figure out why. Probably because there is no Google help desk staffed by polite and patient young men. I've had so much to say over the months, but I'm glad to be here today. How is the Font? Oh, I'm so happy to be able to rejoin the conversation! Lisa and the Rottweilers in Los Angeles.

Thank you. Ordered Schitts Creek but got it in the wrong format. Will try The Good Place.

Hi. Welcome back. Google tech is truly beyond human comprehension.

Commiserate with you on the copper wire connection. Have the same here. Might suggest Upstart Crow for viewing.

Try The Detectorists. It's our favorite.

Another fan of "The Good Place" here. For better wifi inside the ROF, try a TP-Link. We managed to get wifi extended from my office (with 60-cm-thick stone walls) to outside the garden, at the opposite extreme of the property. And in our AirBnBs, where all the walls are good 60 cms of stone, we did the same thing--I could get wifi walking by on the street, which was convenient when I had a minimal data plan.
