Sophie and her companion do a tour of the garden. A few branches down in last nights strong winds but apart from that all is well. At this early hour Venus is still shining brightly away just above the horizon to the East. I stop to marvel at it. Sophie heads off through the laurel hedge in pursuit of a fox.
Yesterday the heating oil was delivered. Just as well. We've used up 5000 litres since the last delivery six months ago. The heating in The Rickety Old Farmhouse does its best to keep us warm through the winter but there's always a draught blowing down a chimney or through a chink in a window frame. There's a reason the words 'rickety' and 'cozy' are rarely seen in conjunction.
On our morning tour of the village geese, goats, cows , horses and donkeys are all checked and glared at. After her examination of the village the family diva settles down on the stoop for a restorative nap before heading off in the car for some curly croissant ends. The goat at the field in the crossroads was once again out of its pen and happily eating the spring shoots on the old widows lawn. Sophie always gives the old widows goat a wide berth. This, I think, may have something to do with goats 'fragrance'.

Who needs to visit a zoo when you can go on a tour of the village?
A fragrant goat - and Sophie gave it a wide berth? Well, I never - I'd still be trying to pull Inca away!
Do you heat your swimming pool with Oil?
The final photo makes me want to join Sophie for a nap (perhaps because I find her much more interesting than my work!)
