I've got nothing to do today but smile .

A house full of workmen cutting holes in the concrete floors in search of blocked pipes . A truck laden with gravel and another for compressed air. '' We'll purge the blockage M'Ongoose. We'll purge the blockage ". Bob and Sophie watch the comings and goings as if this is an everyday occurrence.

Amid the bedlam the builder arrives to deal with the length of garden wall that the drain men , unintentionally, demolished earlier in the week. '' Is this a good time ? " he asks . M'Ongoose is tempted to answer honestly but doesn't.

No sooner is the builders concrete mixer spinning merrily away than the lawn mower repair man comes to look at the lawn tractor. '' The connectors have gone. You'll never be able to get new ones. They don't make this model any more  ".  He then repeats this , slowly.

On the lawn in the evening. Pipits and Shrikes singing away from the sheltering safety of the cherry blossom. Overhead the Black Winged Kite silently gliding to and fro.The diligence of a father with a new brood to feed. A blackbird lands on the lawn. Bob and Sophie spring into life. The immeasurable joy of discovering there's a whole wide world of things to chase. Bob finally settles down exhausted. As all PON's know ' If you have a dream, chase it '.

And a wonderful smile it is indeed!

This post could be used as the perfect illustration of the theory that having a dog (or two) reduces stress and blood pressure.
Cheers, Gail.

I think Bob and Sophie's zest for discovery must be bolstered by the confidence you both are instilling in them. They know they are in safe hands.
Have a wonderful day.

I hope you're not letting Sophie watch this hole digging too closely, you don't want her to get any new ideas! :-)

Bob and Sophie are living a dream, their smiles show it!

It's like the service/repair folks have some interrelated ESP amongst themselves. At least you had the presence of mind to not send them away when they showed up unannounced. Oh Angus, I feel your pain.
I hope the blockage is found soon. Before you give up on your lawn mower tractor, check out those connectors online, you may find some on ebay or even amazon.
Loved that last photo of Bob sitting amongst the daisies looking ooh so cute with himself.
Have yourself the best day that you can under the circumstances...I know Bob and Sophie will keep a smile on your face.

Reading of their adventures always brings a huge grin to my face! Your blog seems to be written through an innocent puppy eye which is so refreshing. Karen & Kelly Rathje

It sounds par for the course that everyone else would show up today! I'm impressed that Mr. Bongo has been there three days in a row. That seems unusual for the workmen around your area!

I hope Bob and Sophie are chasing dreams for a long time!

Poor Madam Bay, missing out on all of this.

Busy day for all. Bob in the flowers with so many blooms around and behind him - Spring is here!

I am sure Bob & Sophie love all the commotion. I am sure, on the other hand, that yourself and 'the font' wish the commotion away - along with the expense!

Don't let them fool you with your tractor. They'll go on forever and there are always parts from the manufacturer. Of course, it's much more lucrative to sell you a new tractor.
You have a digger at your house more often than anyone I know. Maybe instead of a tractor, you could purchase a digger and let it out.

I agree about the tractor, I bet you can find connectors! As long as you have nothing to do but smile, you could also start writing checks . . .
