Autumn arrives.
Autumn arrives and with it thick mist. 'The font' heads back to London to see the thumb surgeon. Angus works in the garden planting Mahonias - the only thing that seems to thrive on this thick clay soil. Sophie looks for acorns under the oak trees. She eats them. Bob does his glum '' I've lost a sheep " routine.
Spirits pick up at lunchtime when the angelic duo smell a bacon sandwich cooking.

Bacon makes all problems recede.
We saw that stray dog story on the News tonight.
Your bacon sandwiches will help to lessen the pain of the Font being away....
Can you tell its Autumn by the muddy paws ? Or is that an all year round thing ?
Hope the Fonts remembered her umbrella, wet mist and damp in London today!
There is a silver ring not quite over Sophie's head. I'm thinking a slightly askew halo?
When in doubt, offer bacon.
I hope they each got their own bacon sandwich. After all, it's only fair!
Angus, we usually read your blog from the US. This week we are in Lyon and Paris so we will be able to read about the Pon exploits in real time. Always interesting no matter what the time zone.
Teddy's companions.
If those are Mahonias in the first picture, they are beautiful, exotic and Rousseau-esque. A wonderful touch. Bacon is always good. Better with chocolate but not for dogs.

Bacon the greatest cure all !
Arthur is becoming very famous.
They will !
Yes - I'm told it's cab weather.
A halo with Sophie ? Improbable.
You're a PON mind reader !
Hope the weather holds.
They grow 10-12 feet high here. In Scotland they'd barely reach 4 feet .
Maybe next time ?
A late comment because I've been galavanting. Sophie is not silly. Acorns are edible. A bit sour but perfectly edible. Poor Bob. A bacon sarnie is by far the best cure,
