What else matters ?
The blue haired cleaning lady is no longer employed at The Rickety Old Farmhouse. She was never the most conscientious of attendees but while we were away the house was ignored. We were presented with a bill for a daily visit for the fortnight we were gone. The security system told a different story. Neither the front nor the back doors had been opened nor had the alarm been switched off. A 'tricky' diplomatic conversation ensues.
The PONs are oblivious to the vagueries of human existence.
There are walks...
.... and there are tickles. Not ,of course, forgetting beans and pork for dinner.
What else matters ?

Beans and pork for dinner? Nothing else matters, apart finding an automatically re-filling yogurt pot for Sophie, and our girls here....
Am I correct in thinking Bob & Sophie never did like her? I think you should hire your future cleaning person based on their ponterview.
It was always clear that Madame Bay was irreplaceable.
Billing for a daily visit while you were away? Not awfully smart. It sounds as if you'll have to clone another Mme. Bay.
Beans and pork sounds quite tasty as a dinner menu.
One wonders how she thought she would get away with it. Bad person and good riddance! Dishonest people are usually up to no good in lots of ways in my experience, more ways coming to light after they've gone.
One also wonders if she rips off all her clients, or just the non French.
At last a good, solid unanswerable reason to send her on her way. One feels like counting the spoons.
Do you have friends who can check the house while you're gone and who won't bill you? And who can recommend a good cleaning person?
Might not be a bad idea to change the code on your security system now.
She never sounded as though she fitted comfortably into the ROF household. I hope you can find a more sympa cleaner soon.
Red flag up concerning this woman's dishonesty. Things missing that you dismiss as your forgetfulness? Been there, done that. Suggestion for an alarm code change sounds good because you probably don't review your log each day. Saves you from having to deal with " But Monsieur Angus, I, just forgot my scarf...."
Bob & Sophie have given new meaning to the phrase, "It's a dog's life"
Now when the Christmas decorations go "missing" in December you'll have a likely suspect.
Oh we do wish you could find another like Mme Bay - her fashion "statements" were legendary - not to mention how much we miss the gossip !
Gosh the blue haired cleaner was a bit brazen, asking to be paid for doing nothing. Walks and tickles sounds like a great way to balance out a stressful day.
I don't even know if I should comment to this post...I am so very very HAPPY that the blue haired cleaner is gone...what a nerve!!!
Good riddance to bad rubbish and all that.
I'm sure the tricky conversation went well.
