Ruminating.

The PON duo explore all the damage that was caused in yesterdays storm. Uprooted trees mean worms. Sophie knows that worms are the snack you can eat between meals without ruining your appetite.

Builders, joiners and gardeners show up. The builder and joiner promise to provide quotes on repairing the shutters. They soon go. The gardeners work away with their chain saws cutting up olive and cherry trees. The PONs are keen to help but their owner is less than keen to have them close to power tools. They are encouraged inside.

The Belgian lady tells me that the Old Farmer has developed an infection after his hip replacement operation. He's running a high temperature. He'd hoped to be out of the hospital and in the nursing home next week. This timetable now looks to be unlikely.

Two hours in the garden after the tree cutters leave. A time for chasing blackbirds, barking at passing tractors and ruminating on what's important in life. As the sun sets the PON parade return for dinner. Bob gives loud voice to his happiness at having a sister to savage and chase. Normal service is almost resumed.

And if you marvel at nothing else on a February Wednesday morning, marvel at this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOxheDoks_Y

It is great to see the dynamic duo enjoying themselves. Mlle Sophie's idea of an entree being worms is interesting. Best wishes to the Old Farmer. Hopefully he will get over the infection in quick smart time and be out of hospital and off to recovery and rehabilitation.

Worms? Oh, Sophie ! What excitement the storm has brought for the intrepid pair, another best day ever.
So sorry to hear about the Old Farmer's set-back, but hope that he will recover quickly.

The Old Farmer will overcome the infection like only he can...he has an indomitable spirit that I would love to inherit one of these days.
Cheers to Bob and Sophie who are back on track....so happy for them.

Ah, Sophie, smart dining. Earthworms give you lots of extra protein without those nasty carbs.
Best wishes for the Old Farmer and a speedy recovery.

I hadn’t thought of making worms a stand-by low calorie snack. Trust Sophie to be resourceful.
It’s so good to see the two of them together and having a grand time.
May the Old Farmer‘s infection and fever quickly abate.

A goose parade! The world needs more Goose Parades at the moment! Although, we hope they weren't on display for Christmas dinners.

Bob and Sophie have had a glorious day: surveying the damage, finding wiggling treats, overseeing workers, and in dull seconds savaging each other! I have not seen a duck parade since the Peabody hotel. There they roll out the red carpet from the elevator to the fountain, in the lobby. The elevator doors open, out waddle ducks with their duck master. They head to the fountain, climb small steps, jump in the fountain, swim and quack! Such fun, I love it!!!
