An ever smaller space.

Bob has been up late watching the rugby on the television. Overnight we have the first winter storm. The wind rattles the shutters and howls down the chimney stacks. At 6:15 Angus gets up and turns on the lights.

Bob is cosily asleep in his bed at the top of the stairs. He is not keen to be disturbed. He feigns invisibility.

The supermarket shelves still short of butter. Seems 1) the Chinese are starting to eat butter and are driving up the price 2) French supermarkets set their prices to their suppliers once a year. However, German supermarkets being more flexible, will pay 72% more than their French counterparts.  Not surprisingly much of the butter is being shipped across the frontier .

The supermarkets wine sale ended two weeks ago. The unsold bottles remain on the shelves. At the end of each day the remaining bottles are 'consolidated' into an ever smaller space.

Loic shows up to blow leaves. I fill the blower up with petrol while he tells me the exciting things that have been going on in his life. He left hospital yesterday after three days of tests. On Thursday he had an MRI which he thought was exciting. As for the biopsy, this is dismissed with the line '' I fell asleep. When I woke up they told me they'd put a tube down my throat ". Loic considers this to be great fun. Angus can't help but think this is a healthy attitude to life.

Loic wanders round the garden blowing leaves into piles. The PONs follow on behind creating havoc. Everyone is content.

Bob has found Furry Fox in a leaf pile and is hogging it. Sophie makes it quite clear what she thinks of the situation.

There was a time when a DJ was a friend of your elder brother with a motley collection of 45's. Today's DJ's are sixteen years old and multi millionaires. ‘The Font’ thinks this happy video of a young Dutch DJ could be called ‘Living life to the full’. Angus thinks it could be called ‘ Do it before your back starts playing up ‘.

Next time I am admitted to hospital, I shall try to remember Loic and adopt his rather wonderful attitude. Cheers, Gail.

How refreshing to see life through Loic's eyes. What is tedious to most of us is an exciting adventure to him. Where did we all lose that joy of life?
All night Rugby - no wonder Bob isn't stirring this morning !

You should have done to Bob what he does to you..stick your nose in his ear and tell him it’s time for a walk! I’m grateful Loic is doing so well, he certainly has a great attitude.

I'd never heard the name Martin Garrix until yesterday's link, and thought perhaps he had something to do with the music. Now after checking on the web, I see he's an international star. Even Forbes rates his net worth. Thanks for keeping us (or is it just me?) au courant.

With no Cost Centres around it's a struggle to keep 'with it'. All we can do is try. Another sign I've become my father?

Apparently Australian butter is heading the same way.

Hmm butter is to expensive here too . We produce the stuff yet have to pay the same New York/London prices.

I think both you and 'The Font' are right about the DJ! Bob has got the right idea too. I tried to feign invisibility as well because we turned the clocks back last night.

**Interesting about the butter - I just stocked up for my holiday baking. It was on sale at "Wegmans" for $3 a pound, is that considered expensive? For us, it really isn't.
