Completely unconcerned

One of those muggy days when thunder never seems far away.

Time for the PONs rabies vaccinations. The disease has reappeared. Brought to France by dogs smuggled in from North Africa.

Bob goes in first. He is on the table  rigid with fear, has the injection and is out again in five minutes.  Sophie is next. She turns on her back and kicks her legs. Sophie is convinced that the vet is an adoring fan. She is also in and out in five minutes.

Sophie is completely unconcerned about being left without her brother. Bob by contrast sits in the back of the car peering through the surgery windows to see where his little sister is. He only relaxes when she rejoins him. Such different characters.

The PONs have new passports. Guess this makes them officially French.

The first peaches of the year make an appearance. They look tempting but are as hard as rocks.

Reading the NYT you'd think the Brits were so miserable and divided over Brexit that they're about to start fighting in the streets. The research cited in this article is interesting. https://www.ft.com/content/0d6e788a-7120-11e9-bf5c-6eeb837566c5?shareType=nongift

Wow we only get peaches at the end of summer. No wonder they are rock hard.

We are glad that both Pons are now safe from rabies. We hope they got extra treats today.

Passports? Bertie wonders if the PONs have plans for foreign travel?

A trip to Stockholm en famille is being considered.

Rabies is no fun. When I went to Africa, we had to get half of the series of shots before arriving in country. A volunteer the year before had adopted a puppy that ran away. She got sick, then sicker and finally died, and it was far too late before they found out about the dog and discovered she had rabies. Not a great way to die.

Such a contrast in personalities. Have the PONS ever traveled outside of France?

Are the PONs brushing up on their Swedish language skills? Ohboy, roadtrip!!
Alas, your FT link wants a subscription before divulging whatever it is.

Our boy gets his Rabies shot every three years. He doesn't travel, and the only case of Rabies reported recently was in a bat about 500km away, but why take chances.

I hope they got a whole croissant each!
