The disappearing keys

Just gone seven am here. One am in New York. Most folks in the US are sensibly sound asleep but not the men in dark suits who are on the phone super early to talk about the constitutional impact of C19 on the White House. Will there be a President Pence ? Will the election be delayed ? Will there be a sympathy vote ? Will Pelosi have another go at a relief bill with Mnuchin ?  Sophie has little time for such questions. She fixes me with her patented ' Don't you know we should go for a walk ?' stare.

This morning a lengthy drink from the old zinc bath by the  village walls.

Then its off in the car to the bakers.  We study a collection of Brazilias but being unsure what they are, and unable to understand the bakers wife from behind her mask , we pass.

A small lemon meringue pie, a Bavarois ..

... an Opera and a peary thing for 'The Font' make up our purchase this morning.

Later this morning we shall head off to the market town to pick up the new dog car and trade in the old one. Angus discovers he can only find one set of car keys for the VW. The other set that is always on a table in his office has mysteriously disappeared.

Angus, it is your duty to the blog world to purchase one of those startling looking Brasilias and enlighten us.
Meanwhile, regarding a potential Trump sympathy vote, surely it's hard to conjure up much sympathy for someone whose actions, or lack thereof, have surely led to many avoidable Covid deaths. But then I guess I'm failing t see the world in the same way as the President's base...
Cheers, Gail.

Hopefully Sophie hasn't purloined the spare car keys and buried them somewhere - just to keep them safe!
If my - admittedly lacking - school French serves me well, doesn't "glacé" translate as ice cream and "maison" as house - so they must be something the baker's wife has dreamed up? It looks like ice cream under the lurid raspberry coloured piping, but I wonder if it's filled with something a little more exotic! Are they really 39:50€, or is it just the way it's written - hard to decipher the handwriting. Judging by the spaces in the display of the other delicacies, she's selling quite a few.

Given my cynicism towards anything 'Trump', I wonder if it's part of some ridiculous strategy.
An Opéra would be just the thing right now.

There are many people on my social media feed who are doubting that the story of the Trump's having Covid because the president lies more than he tells the truth. And there are also others who are saying that Ruth Bader Ginsburg successfully argued her first case to God....

I had to think a moment about that RBG line .
