No side effects.

Bright and breezy. The sort of day when you want to grab a furry friend and hurtle out into the garden.

Nothing as satisfying as a bout of pre-breakfast 'savaging'. Isn't life wonderful ?

The Old Farmer arrives in the silver Mercedes. He's planning to take his lady friend to Marseille in the venerable Ford Transit motor home. They hope to head off on Wednesday but before they go he needs to change the oil and replace the empty calor gas bottle in the kitchenette. He's also going to give the brakes a quick check. This trip to the south coast is a belated 90th birthday celebration. I think of mentioning the lockdown around Cannes and Nice but why spoil an adventure  with mundanities  ?

Both he and the 'lady friend' have had their second jabs. Neither of them suffered the slightest after effects. Not even a sore arm.

Sophie listens to the conversation but her attention is fixed on a C-A-T standing in the middle of The Old Farmers driveway. The audacity of it !

Angus hasn't heard of half of these singers but he does recognize best of class mask wearing when he sees it :https://youtu.be/UlIq5gvqOmA?t=2

For 30 years my dental hygienist has lectured me on brushing properly. Seems I'm not as careful as a  Neanderthal :https://Gizmodo.com/neanderthals-took-good-care-of-their-teeth-unlike-some-1846512339

And 'The Font' has just finished reading this delightfully exciting book and found this link. Highly recommended. A PON owner who is a long time blog friend and kind and intelligent. If you're going to buy a book that covers an adventure mystery in Scotland, Maine and the South buy this one: https://www.goodmorningamerica.com/culture/video/author-pamela-terry-talks-book-sweet-taste-muscadines-76553621

Good news that the Old Farmer and Lady Friend now have been vaccinated. Apparently there's a rule of thumb emerging that the older you are the less severe the side effects.
Thanks for the book recommendation - it sounds like a good 'travel substitute read'.

Angus, Pamela's book sounds good. Saw this today and thought perhaps it might be something for "The Font's maybe one day list" (after studying astronomy) for when you both can travel overseas again. See the video and link in the article about an Air NZ 10 hour Dreamliner "Christchurch to Christchurch" stealth flight.

I didn't pay much attention to the Grammys this year, but I enjoyed the video. If people had only figured out earlier what a marketing opportunity masks could be, things might have been a lot different over the past year. Your book recommendation was very timely, as I just finished one and have been casting about for something new. I like to read mysteries before bed, but I've tapped out all the writers I like for the moment. I ordered it on my Kindle. Also very interesting about the Neanderthals and toothpicks, I feel somewhat ashamed that I have been underestimating them.

Not sure that I want to be immortal, but am rather taken with the colourful header photo!
I have occasionally followed Pamela's blog - her tales of the much missed Edward were a must read, though I rarely commented. I'll look out for her book.
The Old Farmer amazes me, he has such a zest for life - perhaps his lady friend keeps him young? Now that they have had their second jabs, do they feel that they are safe to travel anywhere?

Anxious to read Pamela's book. I have followed her since the first days with Edward. Her instagram is very good also.

The American Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, has demonstrated amazingly good mask-to-outfit matching from the very beginning. She wears many solid masks that perfectly match her outfit, whether or the same fabric or not, but she also has a variety of masks with multicolored patterns that can match a number of her clothes. She's always immaculately turned out, and her mask-wearing has really inspired me. There's no reason your mask can't be fashionable as well as functional, after all!
