The new date.

The village has been 'cut off' by roadworks for a month. To get here you have to make a long dog leg via the water tower. The works were supposed to be completed by June 9th but this morning the roadworks sign has been changed. The date of completion has now been moved from June 11th  to  June 24th. The Anger Management Man thinks the road closure is something to do with the installation of fibre optic cables. The German Billionaires Builder thinks it is to do with subsidence after the heavy rains in March. I would ask the New Mayor but he doesn't seem to have returned from his early June holiday.

Sophie waits with evident impatience while I chat to the Anger Management Man. Sophie, it must be said, is not good at hiding her impatience. Croissants await !

Last night we dine, virtually, in Scotland : https://inverrestaurant.co.uk/

Would it be a step too far for AMM and GBB to agree at least on the cause of the local road closure?
Hope Sophie got her croissant ends, eventually.
Cheers,
Gail.
PS The Inver restaurant - might be one to visit on my next trip to Dunoon?

She does look very grumpy, but hopefully all was made well after that photo was taken.

The first photo looks idyllic - what a beautiful place for a walk.
Oh dear, Sophie does look grumpy! Surely by now you've realised you shouldn't keep a girl from her curly croissant ends!

Inver belongs to the cousins of friends. It gets a great name and is on my explore list. Thank you for reminding me of it.

Oh, it's just up the road - the kale salad with a plate of those chips and the rhubarb to finish, ta. Now... after several days of loss, will this one stick??? I do miss sharing the banter here at Sophie's place. YAM xx

Such and expressive face.

I love how the wonderful restaurant menu also caters to kids. 'Cup O Soup' and 'Eggs in your Face' made me smile...they know their audience. And speaking of making me smile; Miss Sophie's grumpy face! She too certainly knows her audience.

In that first picture Sophie could be walking anywhere in rural California. The colors and the light are exactly the same.
