Done and dusted

2 weeks to the day since we left The Rickety Old Farmhouse. Sophie has sailed through the whole move as if it's the sort of thing that happens every day . She is one tough lady . Her human companions are recovering from a state of near exhaustion. Moving is not a stress free experience - particularly when everything from decision to sell to buying and moving into a new home is done in seven weeks.

Now, for Sophie, it's time to discover the boundaries of this new world. Sunflowers have gone (although surprisingly for these northern latitudes there's a field of them still blooming half a mile away ) to be replaced by wild poppies and lupins. Sophie can run free - and she does.

Back at home, as the unpacking continues,  the family diva is reunited with an old friend. After ten minutes of happy savaging she's asleep and dreaming of seals and seagulls.

Time for a well deserved rest for you all. Before you rename Sophie's blog, I'm still curious how the handover of the ROFH to the new owner went, when he met your village friends, if there is anything from that day you want to share.

It's all very well having a nap Sophie, but shouldn't you and Angus be out searching for that elusive 10/10 croissant with curly ends! Surely there must be somewhere that sells them. Oh, and did you have your morning half sausage today?

So nice that Woolly Mammoth made the journey as well. But no surprise that the two of you are exhausted. The worst moves are those with no downtime along the way, and unpacking is the worst part. From Sophie's perspective it all seems clearly worth the effort!

To recap my message yesterday - through the wonders of Google Street view the Elie Deli actually says croissants above it's door. Of course only Sophie would be able to grade them! Angela

Wonderful, such lovely photographs.

No need to rush the unpacking.

More important things such as seal watching to do.

Have a great day.

It is exhausting moving, and we hope you feel settled soon.

From my comfy chair here in northern Virginia, I cannot believe you and 'The Font' pulled this move off with very few hitches. We did a similar thing in 6 weeks when we left Alaska. I think it truly was serendipity and just meant to be. Are you missing the village, or are you enjoying 'being home?'

It is an established fact that moving home is in the top five stressors in life... not to mention exhausting. Not that Sophie appears to know this. YAM xx

When the dog feels at home, you are also. Happiness all around. Join her in the naps.

The last photo is particularly wonderful. I thought the red flowers were poppies! Do you have pimpernels in your part of Scotland?

Such a wide open world for exploration. I can imagine Sophie's joy.

Arms open wide..you are embracing home.
Sophie in her own PON way is doing the same...she may wear out her nose with all the sniffing.

So what Scottish baked delicacy will replace the croissants? Surely something like a buttered teacake would come close in Sophie's world?

I agree with Life of Riley. Would like a final glimpse of your much loved ROFH friends and the new owner to close that endearing chapter of PON life.

Hope you are giving yourselves a chance to relax a bit and enjoy your wonderful new home. You'll be dining out on the story of your move back to Scotland for years - nobody sells and moves that quickly in France!

You changed the blog's name! Now Sophie's Scottish adventure is officially underway! Looking forward to the important things that you and she discover.

I’m in awe of you two! Seven weeks from Go to Woa is truely remarkable! And Sophie would never have coped if she felt you were stressed out. Often it seems to be months of negotiation and Gazumping nonsense before it’s sewn up.

I, too, would love to hear how the final handover went, and if you saw Logic again. Reading between the lines I’m guessing he was diagnosed with something pretty serious?

I was very touched by the photo of Sophie and the wooly mammoth. You three are absolutely remarkable in your abilities to make all this happen with such alacrity. Kudos all around!
