Every table full

We are off to the States until the end of the month. A spur of the moment thing. The Font' decides we'll travel light and pick up a 'few things 'when we arrive. 'Light' and a 'few things' mean different things to different people. The blog will take a little rest.

The Thursday morning view across the fields towards town as peaceful and calm as it gets.

The Red Bull team have arrived for this weekends start of semester parties. Angus can't stand the taste of Red Bull but 'The Font' informs me that I'm not the target demographic .

During the day the Quad is quiet.

Come four o'clock ,when lectures finish, the town bursts into life. 10,000 enthusiastic youngsters suddenly appear. Laughter everywhere.

There are certain times of the year when the place is just brimming over with joy. Life here is as good as it gets. In the sun you could ( almost ) believe you were in Madrid.

Every cafe table full. Friendships and relationships that will last a lifetime are being built. The secret to life here is that you'll see someone you know every fifty yards. A burden when you reach a certain age but a boon when you're a late teen.

Angus most certainly will no be investing in pyjamas that double up as outerwear - snugglesome or not :https://theclub.ba.com/september-2024/en/seven-airport-appropriate-pyjama-sets

Travelling light is all very well, as long as both of you don't presume the other packed the chargers!! Enjoy your break.

I'm struck by how many of the pyjama sets have shorts rather than long trousers. That's assuming a certain outside temperature on departure and arrival. We'll be flying Glasgow-Dubai-Melbourne-Wellington this winter, and the thought of braving outside-the-airport Glasgow temperatures in cotton shorts is not appealing. Enjoy your spontaneous break!

So disappointing to learn that Angus will not be sporting a 'Piglet in Bed Short Set' on the forthcoming flight across the Pond....

Here in the states, if I wished to experience people out in public wearing pajamas I'd go visit any local Walmart. Of course, Dolce & Gabbana are not featured heavily in those locations. Safe travels and happy trails to you both.

Have a wonderful trip! Although it will be hard to get through these final pre-US election weeks without the blog and its stress-relieving qualities. I'll be curious to hear how you find the atmosphere over there.
