Joy is what happens when we recognize how good things really are .

Tuesday afternoon . Monsieur Bongo, the drain man, shows up with a large truck, an excavator and his two sons. He was supposed to come in the morning but arrives after lunch.  For ease of identification  ' the font ' refers to the two sons as the little Bongo's . The little Bongo's dig a trench, remove two trees, three shrubs, an ancient septic tank and,  unintentionally,  a couple of metres of garden wall. Monsieur Bongo supervises.  They all swear away like troopers. On the dot of five the Bongo clan depart. '' We'll see you tomorrow M'Ongoose. Shouldn't take long now ". Bob and Sophie sit on the terrace watching , noses twitching, while this excavatory chaos is unleashed below them.

Time to be weighed. Bob now 8.8 kilos. Sophie 7.5. They seem to grow in front of our eyes. The word 'no ' ( or more correctly  NO !!! ) a  difficult concept for them to grasp . However , the electrifying words breakfast, treats, food and dinner recognized in both English and Swedish.

Champagne time. The mayor, the French teacher and the lawn mower repair man all come to see the new puppies . For their adoring audience Bob and Sophie each put on their best '' butter wouldn't melt in my mouth '' routine. ' What little angels' says the French teacher. The little angels revert to their destructive form as soon a the visitors have gone.

That would be a good study. I wonder if dogs automatically understand the words for food no matter the language!

I fear I may be in need of a Msr Bongo upon my return, but two days for the job seems encouraging.
The puppies are sprouting! Unfortunately they do have fantastically selective hearing. Clever PON's.
I hope the Gariguettes were good.

So who are the most efficient excavators? Team Bongo or Team PON?

If it gets out that you serve champagne while people admire the pups, we predict tour buses stopping in future.

Wow, they sure are having fun-filled days. What with everyone coming by to introduce themselves, it's almost like being presented to royalty.
Loved the photo of Bob on the tree stump, but what on earth is Sophie doing in the first photo? (Looks like she's playing with a baby nappy)
Oh my gosh, make sure Mr. Bongo and sons don't rip out all your mature greenery unintentionally at the rate that they're going.
In my humble opinion, ALL dogs have selective hearing...smile.

That's lagging on the outside taps to prevent them freezing up in frost. Or rather that was lagging .

Um, are they going to restore part of the garden wall? Sheesh!

We used to laugh last year and wait to see if Kuster had gotten longer or taller overnight. It was always one or the other!

Is it my imgination or did you write something about dealing with Kusters play biting ? Quite sure it wasn't one of the girls .

The garden wall? Again?
Pups and champagne are a winning combination. We expect sooner or later everyone in the village will visit.
Some multiple times, I suspect. Only to see how the pups have grown. Nothing, absolutely nothing, to do with the champagne........

Did I miss the post...........or has MADAME BAY not come by to meet SOPHIE & BOB as of yet? I thought she would be the first one to meet them. Hopefully soon.

Isn't that what little angels do? Revert to devilishness as soon as backs are turned? Or even whilst you are watching? They certainly are growing, I can tell from the pics. They look just adorable!

Puppies, puppies! They charm everyone on Earth despite the path of destruction that they leave behind them. Those two are very cute. I wish that I could come visit them.

What do PONs generally weigh when full grown? Which those two seem likely to be any minute now, at the rate they're going.

Angus said...

They should get up to 20 kilos or so.
