One can never consent to creep when one feels an impulse to soar.

Saturday morning.  A trip in the car to the strawberry farm for Gariguettes. They're €4.50 for a small punnet in the fancy greengrocers but €2.50 for half a kilo from the lady with the polytunnels. The polytunnel lady comes to the back of the car to say hello to Bob and Sophie. Sophie licks her hand. At the cafe under the arcades we park and the waitress brings out two coffees. Bob and Sophie get a tickle. The beer and absinthe crowd wave. Next week we'll take them into the cafe.

Back home to find Loic the bifocaled gardener strimming happily away. We've asked him to make sure all the verges are cut short as we're entering peak deer tick season. Bob doesn't like the sound of the strimmer and rushes into the house. After some hesitation Sophie wanders over and licks Loics hand. So ends our first fun filled week together.

For those of you who asked for some videos of the little angels - watch and wonder at a PON's gardening skills.

Did Sophie try her hardest to knock that container over with her nose? Or did she attempt to flip Bob into the air with her nose instead in an attempt to catapult him at the container or something. I wouldn't put it past her, she is clearly ingeniius and determined. And Bob is always there for her.

In yesterday and todays photos they look so much more settled and confident. I knew it wouldn't take long.

What a monkey! She's so busy.
I can see that poor old Bob is going to get into all sorts of bother, not necessarily due to his own actions.
They are delicious.

Those videos. Oh my goodness. When you said yesterday she cleared out the planters I had no idea.

Are you certain there aren't any old skeleton bones buried deep in that container? She sure is wanting something! :)

Go Sophie! Roxy and Bella love your style. They're both adept dirt rearrangers.

XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy

So Sophie stood up to the noisy gardening tool?

Revisited the ROF blog. March 12, 2013 entry. Second paragraph. Final sentence of that paragraph reads as follows: "SOPHIE is going to be a charmer." ANGUS -
Fortune Teller Extraordinaire. Thanks for the videos, the photos, and for allowing for all of us to share in the joy of the two new PONS. They are wonderful!
Wishing we could all be there next week, under the arcades, for the first morning cafe visit. From the Westcoast of Canada, EDENA

Sophie is the live one. I have 5 shuh tzu's so I do know about most of what you are talking about boy it's fun to watch them grow up. Laugh & cry both sometimes.

Bob and Sophie are natural gardeners and could even give a lesson or two to Todd!! Thanks for the much needed grin at the start of my day!

I think Sophie needs to get a Barbados stamp in her passport. Please send her over to help me with my repotting, she is a natural.
The videos were priceless, very cute and naughty at the same time.
Brownie doesn't seem to be bothered by my strimmer either.
I love starting my day with you guys, I can't believe an entire week has gone by already.
Happy Sunday!

Sophie is such a determined gardener! Bob follows her but Sophie *wants* the bottom of the planter. She is certainly having a happy time at her new home. A most entertaining and happy making pup is Sophie!

It speaks volumes about your character that you chose to film them rather than stop them.
Marvelous.

And you worried at first meeting that Sophie might be too shy, even retiring. Ha! Love the black-bottom patch on Bob, as if he'd sat in something. Which he probably will sooner or later.

Delighful! Now you can get rid of that cultivator tool and go with the PON gardening assistant program.

So much for shy.

Just getting a black space where the video is supposed to be located. Sad moment for me.
