A record of those unimportant little things that are too important to be forgotten.

Even God cannot change the past.
The beautiful weather brings out the pilgrims. Masses of them. Some walking, some on horseback, most in cars. A couple in a motor home with Paris number plates stop and ask , as if it's the sort of thing they do every day, for directions to the Holy Well. They park by the church and head off down the hill holding large plastic water bottles. What do people do with water from a Holy Well ?
Sophie has got bored of pilgrims. She doesn't rush over and bark every time she hears one go by. Bob hasn't reached this stage yet. He takes guarding as a serious 24/7 job. The stump seat an excellent accessory.
In the evening we walk down to the stream. A local farmer has driven through with his tractor and churned up the river bank. It's gloriously muddy. Bob tries his hand at fishing. '' Perhaps if you tried to be stealthy "' I find myself saying. He sploshes contentedly, and noisily, in the water.

Oh dear. I am very concerned that lovely, curvy Sophie is not barking at the pilgrims because she is too weak through starvation…
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
I'd be barkin dem pilgrims - I bark just about everything!
The stump seat is perfect....maybe you need two.
XXXOOO Bella & Roxy
I wouldn't lose any sleep over that ......
Guarding and sloshing in water, a PON's work is never done!
Young Bob takes his job very seriously.
Merlin walked along part of the Dengie peninsula yesterday. Tide out. He thinks he smells wonderful. I disagree. A mere hosing down will not suffice today.
Have a lovely day.

Poor Merlin !
The stump seat seems made for watching pilgrims!
Your village has a Holy Well? Baguette boxes, Holy Wells - it simply boggles. What makes the well holy? Will a few sips of it's water will banish Sophie's extra kg?
Maybe Sophie needs her own stump seat. Much better view.
Bob is certainly keeping an eye on things....Sophie knows he will do a good job without her help, so Miss Diva will relax while he is on duty....she's very smart that way.
Not sure what the couple will use the Holy water for but probably for healing.
I assumed that the pilgrims were en route to Santiago de Compostella (we're not far from one of the traditional routes ourselves) rather than going to your own Holy Well...Why is it holy? Who made it so? Enquiring minds wish to know!?!
