Sophie is looking more 'stylish' this morning.
Is it my imagination or are there the first flecks of grey in Bobs hair ?
The baker has been busy. A wider and more appetizing selection of cakes today.
While we're in the cafe a small flock of ducks flies over the car. We return to find they've left their calling cards all over the Volvo's front. True to form I'd been to the car wash the day before.
Bob and Sophie have scratched the paint off the gates where they stand on their hind legs monitoring passers by. The day in, day out, impact of furry paws. I collect some flakes of paint and head off to the hardware store. ''Can you match this ? " I ask the man behind the counter. 'But of course' comes the reply.
When I apply the paint it's clear that the word 'match' has a different meaning in French.
'At least it's green' says "The Font", demonstrating a healthy illogicality.
On the day Britains Foreign Secretary noisily resigns the French Embassy displays a masterful touch of Gallic wit : https://twitter.com/FranceintheUK/status/1016298810853781504

I barked out loud at the non-match... and 'the departure'. As to the assessment of grey upon the grey of Bob, one can only trust the eye of the M'Ongoose. YAM xx
Don't think of it as flecks of grey, just think of it as the PON dominant fading factor at work: https://nationalpurebreddogday.com/dominant-fading-factor/
Perhaps the baker has been reading your blog and felt shamed into action?
Rooting for France tonight!
The baker's offerings look quite interesting, especially at left rear, with all the strawberries.
How do you say "trolling" in French? Adding that link to my must-follow list.
I'm sure that, in her own mind, Sophie is ALWAYS stylish.
The French embassy tweet undoubtedly has a touch of class.
We think it is silver in Bobs hair not grey and it suits him, a more mature look maybe. Hmmm the bakers choice does look better - we like the look of the one in the middle at the front, something new we haven't spied before.
Thanks for making us laugh. The irony of washing the car, to have it christened by the birdlife and the superb job of the hardware store matching the paint. At least it was in the green family.
Have a lovely day in lovely France.
The Twitter account seems to have taken a lesson in shade from Obama's former photographer, Pete Souza. Check out his Instagram feed, which always has a classy contrast to the news of the day. Some call it trolling, but trolling is a blunt instrument, whereas throwing shade is a fine art.
The ducks in your part of the world certainly don't believe in half measures - here it's seagulls who leave similar calling cards! I've given up car cleaning - and windows - for the time being. We've had three lots of dirty rain (almost neat sand from the Sahara), over the past fortnight, just after I'd tackled both jobs. The queues for the car washes in town are unbelievable !
Grey might have been a better shade to match the gate paintwork - will you now have to paint the rest of it green to match? Perhaps, Angus, your suspicions should have been aroused when you received such prompt and helpful service?
The gateau in the middle of the front row looks like Tiramisu.
Maybe the clerk that handles paint is color-blind?
Todd is getting white flecks through his coat too - When and how did he and Bob get old enough to have that happen?
