A PON at the stoop.
Darker in the mornings. We're up and out at 5:45 to talk to men in dark suits and the sun is only now drifting into the sky. Not that the PONs notice. They're just keen to get the day started.
Bob stops by the far gate. A fox has been in during the night and left tantalizing scents.
This morning even the buddleias, that most weed like of trees, look theatrical.
An early rising motor biker and a woman on a nervous horse are passing through the village as we head out of the gate. The horse rears as the bike goes by. Angus makes the executive decision to head back inside until motor cycle and horse have passed. The PONs are too busy wondering why there's a delay to bark at the horse or notice the motor cyclist.
Bob is reacquainted with Lamb on a Rope.
With things as they should be he settles down with his chin on the front door step. When there's a PON at the stoop you know that all is as it should be - although there are those in London who might disagree.

Someone should recommend this blog to our beleaguered UK prime minister. Then at least she would be able to enjoy a few moments of her day..
The men in dark suits must be quaking.
Why is the queen having tea? Nothing good will come of it.
Shaking things up is one thing. Draining swamps another. Being derogatory to your host ( and your closest ally ) in public something altogether different. This morning I was glad - no make that GLAD - for Bob and Sophie's always positive outlook on life.
I rarely feel sorry for politicians - they after all know what they're getting into - but to be criticised by a visiting head of state is really quite remarkable but not in a good way.
I like buddleias. I admire their tenacity. And they attract the hummingbird moths.
Of all the negative things that might be said of Theresa May, she strikes me as a grafter.
There are benefits to being a grafter. Surprisingly methinks her popularity may have soared this morning !
A Buddleia is what many of us in the US call the Butterfly Bush - I used to have one, but the invasion of my nemesis, the 'Brown Marmorated Stink bug' managed to kill it. But they are a lovely addition to a garden.
My day is just getting started, and I cringe that the news is already saying to "stay tuned for an update on the presidents controversial visit to London."
Bob you look mighty relaxed to us and your stoop looks like the perfect place to sit and wait.
We watched the news tonight, and even here in far away NZ were confused by what Pres T was talking about in London - what a train wreck.

The PONS set the world to rights even for the devoted international fans... and we are grateful to their human for letting us share them! It's a reminder that all the rest of the world is smoke and mirrors. Plants, bugs and and dogs on stoops keep it real. YAM xx
Discretion is the better part of valor..you were smart to move on, horses, motorcycles and dogs are not a good combination. My Butterfly Bush is in full bloom and has Humming Birds and Butterflies visiting. Thank you for helping me start my day with a smile.
The PONs have the right idea - just take the day as it comes - and enjoy !
Lots of attempted distraction ongoing. I find this writer to be among the best political commentary of late, makes me laugh out loud: https://www.esquire.com/news-politics/politics/a22134841/peter-strzok-testimony-what-happened/?src=socialflowTW&__twitter_impression=true
