Sunny morning - much to do.

The sun just rising as we turn left out of the gate and head through the village to the pond.

Half an hour later, as we retrace our steps, the sun has risen.

Readers of the blog will be pleased to learn that everything is in order. Goats, donkeys, calves and horses all accounted for. Jackdaws, collar doves and a pair of recalcitrant pigeons all chased across the village green. Sophie shrieks with delight.

Bob stands on his stump seat to monitor the village little ones as they head off in the school bus. His sister takes a rather more relaxed approach to guarding.

Time for the male PON to have a thorough grooming.  He clambers, willingly, onto the wooden garden table. A chance for him to be the centre of attention for twenty minutes.

Angus notes that the hair on one side of Bobs muzzle has been trimmed an inch shorter than on the other side. Bob is quite unconcerned.

Bob knows he looks great no matter what you do to him with those clippers! We are having a good and sunny day here in Tokyo, too. Cherry had surgery this morning to remove a large fatty tumor that had been pressing on her esophagus and may have been the culprit behind two recent bouts of pneumonia. The vet just called to say that all went well. We're supposed to pick her up tomorrow at 4:30, but based on prior experience they will probably call us around noon and ask if we can come earlier - it seems she's a very noisy patient.

When Sophie went to have her metal knees put in we were told she'd be in overnight. They called us in the late afternoon begging us to come and collect her. No one in the surgery dare go into her cage. PON females are a very determined type of dog. The world bends to them rather than them bending to the world. Good luck this afternoon and special thoughts for the patient !

Good to hear all is in order in the village. Or will be if Bob's muzzle is rebalanced...

Oh, good Bob! You look very handsome, never mind the inept barber.
My newish dog is proving difficult to groom, won't let me get near her rear quarters or tail for combing. So she'll go to a pro for the time being.

Hope Cherry is home, and feeling better tonight.

Congratulations to you and your “newish Dog”! I am happy you found each other!

You are correct. This blog reader is pleased that Bob and Sophie have greeted all the animals and have everything under control!
