White strawberries.

White strawberries at the market. The greengrocer says that people with strawberry allergies can eat them. He doesn't know what the symptoms of strawberry allergy might be. He also has Framberries which are a strange cross between a strawberry and a raspberry.

The last of the seasons asparagus for lunch.

A group of well dressed Americans gathering at the little cafe for a six thirty coffee. They all speak French borderline well. Are they airline executives come to take delivery of a new aircraft ? Conversely, although less likely, they could be here for an early  morning wedding. The leader of the group has ordered taxis to take them on to their destination. The taxis haven't arrived. The leader borrows a cigarette from a waiter at the cafe and nervously starts to smoke it while 'pacing' in a very New York way up and down.

I think I would enjoy the framberries! The white strawberries? The produce appears to be much more colorful than in the store. Hope Bob and Sophie were offered bits of a pastry item!

The fruit and veg on display a positive enticement to exceed the 'five a day' target.
But where are Bob and Sophie today?

I would love to try the framberries and the white strawberries, as I have never seen either. All the vegetables look delicious displayed like that.

Enjoy your day.

...or had they been here for D-Day events and needed to get to their flight home? Oh the possibilities.

White-fruited strawberry genotypes are not per se hypoallergenic. Something to do with birch pollen apparently. YAM xx

I bought some white strawberries just recently. They were delicious, but I still prefer ciflorettes and garriguettes. The white ones smell heavenly, but they are a bit like truffles in that way--the perfume makes big promises that the flavor doesn't quite live up to, at least not when eaten alone.

You do know that it is your "duty" to try the berries and give us your unqualified expert opinion?

I hadn't heard of white strawberries. The veggies all look quite beautiful, and such colors.
Did you maintain your cover or did you reveal yourself to the American visitors as an Anglophone? What did Bob and Sophie say?
