A quick trip.

Angus is off in London for the day. At the airport duty free shop the selection of rugby balls has now been joined by a display of 'Heritage' French berets. These come in red, white , blue and - bizarrely - peach.

Angus has flown back to be poked and proded by a new surgeon in search of a solution to ongoing 'twinges'. This surgeon is less 'jaunty' and more serious than the last one. He exudes gravitas.

Cherries at $94 a kilo in the London greengrocers. That's $43 a pound. Angus is once again amazed by the cost of things.

Just checked - cherries are $24 nz a kilo or 12 pounds per kilo. Crazy.

Good luck with your check up Angus. I hope the new dr has the answers you need.

Cherries £8 per kilo this morning in Sainsbury's, Bridge of Dee, Aberdeen.
I do hope the new surgeon can sort out the 'twinges'.

I had Mohs surgery on my back on Thursday. The wound is fine and no pain except a reaction to the adhesive on the bandage: always something. Sending well wishes your way, my friend. Bedside manner is nice but give me a Dr who has answers. BTW, Sophie has been looking content and adorable. No cherries in our markets, are yours imported from Mars?

How many pounds of cherries did you say you bought ❓😊
Trust you have left the doctor with the answer you need to be in excellent shape now.

Not fully knowing your surgical circumstances, but to toss unsolicited advice. My twinges after abdominal surgery, which happened over a year ago, continued for several months afterwards due to the use of surgical mesh. Apparently it takes some time for the body to fully integrate internal stitches, mesh, and general rummaging around and for the nerve endings to calm. Not pleasant but it does finally all go away. Hoping your new physician has some answers and reassurance for you. And I would buy those beautiful cherries anyway as a reward for enduring post surgery twinges!

Gosh...I meant to offer, not toss. Oops.

No cherries here, at any price! We normally have vegetables and fruit in season, so the prices remain low. It's only out of season that they become ridiculously expensive.
Hope that the trip to see the surgeon was worthwhile Angus, and you are now recovering in comfort, and at leisure. Sophie, of course, had no fears of a drop in standard of cuisine, whilst you were away. She was probably quite happy to wave you goodbye providing 'The Font' stayed at home.
Were you just a teeny bit tempted to buy a beret?

And I thought $13 a half kilo for cherries at Christmas was expensive!

Oh Camille, I love your “toss unsolicited advice” statement! That way the person receiving the advice can catch it, or not! I plan to use your statement, if you do not mind? So Angus, I had dinner with a friend in her forties that had abdominal surgery in August. She was told by her doctor the twinges were normal after her surgery, and would eventually subside. When she asked how long it would take, she was told each patient is different. I am sorry you must go through this, but am glad you are having it checked out.

Not sure if Angus's twinges are back related, but if so, please check out ONZ in Germany. We went there to fix my guy's back. They make the parts in the USA but, they cannot use them here, so we went to Deutschland to get them installed. IT was his second trip (his ex-wife had similar surgery).

Not pretending in the least to know what surgery you had, but I do think, from personal experience, it takes quite a while for a body to adjust and post surgery pains aren't terribly unusual. I say this hoping that is all it is. Hoping this new Dr. figures it out for you. At those prices, cherry pie must be bought under armed guards! Whew!

How is Sophie this week❓ I trust she is normal and will not require a visit to the Vet‼️
