Should last a year.

Another warm and sunny start to the day with a hint of a wind. No complaints whatsoever about this weather.  Today Sophie's breeze dried coat looks merely bedraggled rather than dire.

'The Font' has ordered some Greenies from the pet shop. ' Goodness they've gone up in price ' I'm told. The delivery man shows up just after 7:30. Seems they were a special offer. 20% off when you ordered 3 packs. This explains why they seemed so expensive. It also explains why we now have 18 packets of the things rather than the 6 intended. Never let your attention drift when purchasing online.

Sophie is rewarded with one of these 'treats' at bedtime. With 22 in a bag ( what a peculiar number ) this delivery should last a year.

The soil is now dry. Bobs resting place is raked over and grass seed ready to be put down. This is the 3 PONs in a row part of the garden. Instead of being sad this is rather a comforting thought.

Sophie may be allowed a single Greenie late at night but the commitment to keeping this generation of PONs - or what remains of it - away from processed food remains intact. Angus buys two kilos of carrots. Theses should keep her going for the better part of a week. Chilled carrot slivers seem to have that satisfying combination of sweetness and crunchiness.

Absolutely nothing unusual about this :  https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-50971446

She must see well in the dark with all of those carrots!! I was feeling sorry for her only getting one greenie at night, but knowing she gets lots of other treats it is fine.

A nice spot for Bob. I would be happy with such a view.

She also gets morsels of human food twice and day with her kibble so she's not too hard done by. Then of course there's badger poo !

Not liking to be a spoil sport regarding GREENIES - beware. If the dog 'wolfs' them down, they can cause a blockage in the intestine, and result (as has been many a case) in fatality. Years back, there was much bad press about them. It seems they have been re-formulated - but they still require that the dog 'chew' them, rather than just swallow them whole. Please go to GOOGLE, and look up "safety of Greenies for dogs" and read the stories and reports. I would hate for something to happen to SOPHIE, after what you have just gone through with BOB. Do take care and caution with this product.

Based on your experience, we tried carrots with Cherry, and it is amazing - with almost any other type of food (except celery, which is immediately rejected), she just gobbles it down wherever she happens to be, but with carrots, she gently carries them off to a place where she can be alone and savor.

Carrots was the one thing I could never get my angel Jade to take. She ferreted them out of anything where I tried to hide them the way kids do with broccoli! As for the weather - I offer this in return. And the weather in Auld Reekie today is positively spring-like! Kerazy. YAM xx

I laughed at the photo of bags of greenies and thought, "thank goodness their home is big enough to accommodate them all!"

Merlin would very happily snack on a raw carrot. In fact I can't think of any food type he ever refused. None of my rescues, all street dogs previously, will touch carrots unless cooked. You would think they would snaffle anything falling in their general direction!

31°C at 6:15 a.m. Going to be another scorcher. Had to chuckle at the order.

Please, do read back to the earliest 2018 posts on the above link.

We have friends who had two Champion West Highland White Terriers. Both of them died from investing GREENIES. Beware of feeding them to SOPHIE.

Bertie loves Greenies but unfortunately turns his nose up at carrots.
I do understand how the three in a row PON burial site is comforting. I feel the same about Hamish the Westie's final resting place in the garden of my Torridon cottage.
Cheers, Gail.

oops! typo! (above) should have been "died from INGESTING Greenies" (not as I typed it, "INVESTING"). Although........it seems that
the FONT did more than 'invest' in this enormous supply! On a more serious note, beware of this product. I heard of two other families that lost their beloved dogs - from GREENIES.
