Never out of fashion.

Sophie yawns and inadvertently demonstrates a pair of perfect incisors. We set off towards the donkey field passing the horses, geese and goats as we go. At the junction where the track winds up to the old widows house Sophie stops for a long drink from the water filled ditch. She perches precariously on the grass bank and slurps away.

A team of workmen in  day-glo orange overalls have arrived in the village. A large white dumper truck is parked outside the church and a mechanical digger by the communal notice board.  The workmen have installed a diversion sign on the speed bump. This means we have to turn right and detour by the end of the pike pond to get to the road to the bakers. I ask them what they're doing but they don't know yet. ' We're waiting for out boss to arrive '.

En route to our morning croissant we see a billboard with the new McDonalds advertising sign. 'Never out of fashion'. Angus finds this wryly amusing.

Back at home the family princess adopts an imploring look that suggests it might be a good idea to head off to McDonald's for some early morning sustenance.

And a Scottish song as sung on all variety of family occasions : https://twitter.com/carlbildt/status/1222630442433744897

What a lovely picture of Sophie drinking the delicious looking ditch water!
But I need yet more distraction to dull the pain of losing my EU Citizenship later today...

A glass or two or three of Gods amber nectar mighty dull the pain. After that it's a question of waiting for folks to realise they've been lied to.

It will be interesting to we expats to see how we are treated now that the break has finally been made. Once the truth about manipulation of figures, and the lies are revealed, how long before the UK asks to rejoin?

Indeed, even I (aux Etats Unis) can see how difficult it will be to sort out health care and pensions, not to mention travel for "little" people (and a myriad of other issues about which I am ignorant)....or trade agreements, which of course affects everyone's pocket. Unrelatedly on the plus side, I noticed those lovely incisors. And I wondered it "indemodable" might be better applied to the guy, not the "food."

Never have figured out how one can manage to get their jaws around a Big Mac, especially while keeping a beard like that reasonably clean. Are those tattoos on the gent's arms???
Waiting to see what 'great' US/UK trade deal Trump, Pompeo and Johnson manage to propose.

I'm with Sophie. I'll admit to being a fan of the egg McMuffin, or a sausage biscuit, but not so much a Big Mac.

Trying to get my mind off the soon-to-come acquittal in Washington today - Here's the superbowl ad that will be hard to beat that doesn't feature beer or chips!
