Black bags gone AWOL.

'The Font' always orders black dog bags in the hundreds. Angus always says ' We'll never get through all those'. This morning he discovers we have.

A hectic rummaging around at the back of the dog cupboard unearths a box of 'free samples' retained for an emergency like this. The 'free samples' are luminescent green in colour, a tad too small to be practical and made of flimsy plastic that it is slightly sub-par for the job in hand.

These design features scream out 'dog owner beware'

Sophie is oblivious to the traumas facing her master. All she knows is that she wants to get her day started and a certain someone is being tardy - again.

We head off across country towards the waterfall and the little stream. Sophie leads the way. From time to time she stops to let me catch up. This is her 'taking my owner' for a walk routine.

So what you're really saying is you and Sophie took the back roads today just in case of a bag malfunction? It looks like dog heaven in any event. Thank you for the SNL link! I spent some time this morning listening to a National Academy of Science panel that included the good doctor. He is very knowledgeable and well-spoken, of course, but he also looked amazingly well for a 79-year old who must be working ungodly hours. So I think the casting was entirely appropriate, and the voice was spot on. Both the pandemic and the presidential election have, among other things, provided an opportunity for people to encounter some very striking New York accents - Bernie and Fauci from Brooklyn, Trump and Cuomo from Queens - soon people will be able to distinguish among the boroughs.

After that dog bag build up, I was fearing a breakfast-unfriendly dénouement...

Ah, this is where a quick flick of a stick into the hedgerows may be advisable - particularly given the scarcity of observers... YAM xx

Thank you for the belly laugh, Yamini! Almost spit my coffee all over myself :-)

You just know that those fluorescent bags have been designed, and manufactured, by someone who has never owned a dog - not even a tiny one!

Sod's Law has it that a quick flick, with anything, will be noticed by someone, binoculars at the ready, on the look out for just such an occurrence!

Your walking paths look very lush. We had similarly beautiful paths in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area in Marin Cty USA and in the Connecticut River Valley in NH, USA. Sadly, not so much here in SE USA, although we remain rural. So I enjoy your daily sojourns.

We've of course had those same kind of bagless moments - Thank goodness for those samples that I have stashed in my car.

I agreed with the someone else's thought that "Brad Pitt playing Dr. Fauci was everything I didn't know we needed, but I'm so glad we got."

I realized the other day that next time we order food, we need to order bags too! It is definitely not something you want to be without. Years ago, we were walking our first dog only to discover too late we didn't have a bag. Fortunately there was a discarded take away coffee cup and that and a stick worked. It was highly amusing.
