That cardinal rule.

After a week of rain and chill winds the sun has returned. Sophie takes this as a cue to take up her half in half out position by the front door. Nose in the sun, rump in the shade.

Remember that cardinal rule of dog ownership ' Never step over a dog - make it move ? '. That doesn't apply to Sophie who slumbers blissfully on while the human traffic detours around her.

Maybe it's the same theory as the grooming table, warm and cool together. Thank you for the elevator link, as this is a current fixation of mine. I work on the 24th floor and we are easing back into the office now. I went in yesterday, and they've drawn social-distancing circles on the floor of the elevators and posted signs warning people not to touch the walls. They've also cut off access to the restaurant and business service floors, so that people aren't jumping in along the way. It all seems very prudent, but it's still a small enclosed shared space. Hopefully, the masks will save us.

The ancient toys article is fascinating. I do like the idea of reinterpreting 'ritual items' as children's toys. And Bertie and I think the clay animal figure found in Israel is a proto-Scottie!
Cheers, Gail (thankful that her current life does not involve frequent travel in lifts).

I too enjoyed the toys article (as I do most of your eclectic links - thanks for always bringing us something to think about!). Just yesterday I got round to making masks - am going to have to reenter the world eventually... YAM xx

Aww Sophie it is nice to see you in what I think of as Bobs spot. He would love that you are guarding the farmhouse.

I think that too.

Sophie, we think you have the best spot for your nap time. The lovely nose enjoying some sun. The humans will just have to take a detour now. Thanks for the share. Have a fantastic rest of your day.
