500 days

Passing a hall of residence there's 'woof' of greeting and out comes a sheepdog.

She has chosen her passer by wisely and makes it quite clear what is expected.

A stick is  thrown three times before there is a whistle and she's called back indoors. The sheepdog turns on the step and looks back as if to say ' same time tomorrow ?' What greater pleasure is there than a stick and a large lawn ? I wonder who enjoyed this brief interlude more - dog or passer by ?

The three grey feathered gull chicks on the neighbours kitchen roof still haven't taken their first flight. They now seem to be nearing their parents in terms of size. Maybe a diet of Dominos pizza crusts and discarded  fish suppers is generating a new cohort of super gulls ? They let us enjoy uninterrupted sleep until 5:23 when they demand breakfast.

The roses in the flower beds by the language labs have withstood the overnight rain. English university flower beds are carefully nurtured and precise. Scottish ones - or at least those here - are wild and full of short summer joy.

500 days and it's still being sung with passion :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5sB6u8QEMg

Same again tomorrow I hope. I'm told that when an action is repeated three times for a dog, it creates an expectation. But perhaps it only takes once for a super smart collie.
Super gulls have long been resident in Aberdeen. All those fish supper of course.

Joy for both participants, I think. A dog's joy is infectious.

I enjoyed the pictures and sharing of your time with the dog this morning.

Sounds like you have a new friend. Dogs know how to pick their people. The photograph with the seagull is gorgeous, picking up the reflections from above and from the surrounding buildings. My gardens in Ohio are wild and full of short summer joy, too. Flowers are beautiful regardless of how they're planted. Happy Friday!

I love the idea of a Scottish Lowland Sheep Dog as much as I love this post! I'm biased because I'm owned and managed by a Border Collie, although he is Blue Merle. Border Collies are obsessed with balls, sticks and/or herding!

You could borrow a dog, and half a dozen cats, and open the window, to see if encourages flight.

Same time tomorrow. What quiet joy! And give me those exuberant roses anytime over their civilized sisters. So goes a lovely summer's day.
