Sung with gusto. Christmas music #10

Puppy is up early. She has again managed to find a way out of the farm house garden. While her two sisters sleep she checks the potato fields for adventure. Puppy, we all agree, is fearless. She is also an accomplished escapologist.

A man in a motability scooter comes charging along the tarmac path that runs by the marine laboratory. He's not going to stop for anything - or anyone. We hop onto the grass to avoid being run over. He ignores us and hurtles down the track towards the small bridge at a speed that makes us fearful he's going to topple over. Thankfully, the cornering capabilities of motability scooters are greater than you'd imagine. Down by the pier the fisherman tells us that he'll drop off our lobsters at lunchtime on Christmas Eve. All the others are going to local hotels for their Christmas ' gala nights '.

With the students gone locals have the place to themselves. A queue of university staff are waiting at the yacht club cafe for coffees and grilled cheese sandwiches. We see that the grilled cheese cafe has a rail of 'own brand' clothing for sale. This is a new addition to their empire. We wonder what the market for ' Cheesey Toast - St Andrews ' hoodies and sweat shirts might be. Perhaps they are the ultimate status symbol on Rodeo drive ?

The wreath for the door is ready. Angus is surprised how large it is. It takes up a lot of space in the back of the car. The florist has managed to avoid anything artificial and resisted the temptation to spray it with fake snow. There is sea holly but you have to look hard to see it. It is very heavy.

Inflation has raised 'millionaires' shortbread to the status of 'billionaires' shortbread in the window of the Italian cafe by the opticians.

So starts a windy Saturday morning in a small Scottish seaside town on the North Sea. A place where excitement is provided by speeding octogenarians. By this time next week all the hotels will be full with folks from England enjoying 5 day festive  breaks. For now everything is quiet .... very quiet.

Christmas music #10 - Can anything be as Scandinavian as this aquavit fueled rendition of an old classic ? The audience join in with gusto. The man at the table seems to be enjoying his alcohol :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-JmCPj3RY8

I think that the wreath is lovely and that puppy has decided to love you, Angus and Font. Also, is that a cannoli? Yes, please!

Agreement here - the wreath is beautiful. Puppy is adorable and still hoping to fill the empty space vacated by a certain much-loved PON.

Puppy gets my vote too! Thanks for that wonderful Christmas song. The man's voice was great and it helped me a little....only a little I'm not that good... in my quest to learn Swedish...for no real reason just like the sound of it and the discovery of Swedish words Scottish people have adopted, particularly in the east of Scotland.
