Isn't life wonderful !

At 6:30 the PON's are up and wondering when they're going to go for a walk. We used to have breakfast and then go for a walk. Now with the heat rising we go for a walk and then have breakfast.

Sophie heads off with 'the font' for a jog round the lake. Bob heads off with me to look at the frogs in the pond and walk to the edge of his known universe - the Old Widows house by the crossroads. He carefully christens the road sign at the junction. Then it's time to come home. 16 months old and already some routines are sacrosanct. A fact of life dog owners will understand and non-dog owners will think is lunacy.

Before the sun is fully up I've already found myself laughing out loud at his antics. I'd never thought we'd have another family fellow like the last one. I'm changing my mind. When we get home Sophie is under the cherry trees in the orchard. She's snoring like a trooper.

ANGUS - we never thought we'd have another 'family fellow' like the last one either. But here we are, on Scottish Terrier number 4, and of course we (like yourself) have changed our mind. Each one the same, each one unique. Each one adored as the ones before. One thing is for sure. For us,
a household (and life) without a Scottie is no life at all. Regards tonight from the Westcoast of Canada.

Thats a very pretty walk you and Mr. Bob take.. Speaking of routines, my 9 year old Stella, sleeps until 7:30, gets up and asks for breakfast and goes back to bed for an hour or so. Everyday!

Cheers,
Jo

Early morning walks are the best. It gets light too late now for our walks.

Hard to know who, out of Bertie ad I, is more attached to our daily routines. Which of course include reading this blog over breakfast, pre walk in the park.
Cheers, Gail.

Pretty walk! We're going for walks before breakfast around here too - it's too hot to wait.

My doggies always sleep as LONG as I sleep - I let them out to the garden around 6 a.m. they come back and patiently wait until I wake up - even sometimes late.
It took me a long time to make the transition between my beloved Foxiie and the Kiri-Wonderboy... I even felt unfaithful, when I started opening up my heart - happy to hear about your happyness - enjoy.

Merlin is now at the stage where he enjoys a more relaxed start. He will always get up early with me; he says hello, has a stretch and snack and then takes himself back to bed for an hour or so until he is ready for his first walk of the day. The life of Riley!
The pictures of Bob always exude a gentle energy, muddy nosed or otherwise. He seems like a real sweet-heart.

Carefully christening signs and tyres are one of Brownie's favourite pastimes too.
He is awake early and rearing to go just before 5am...I am an early riser so I'm up and rearing to go too.
Scouting around the property and barking at any foreign creatures and then returning inside to await breakfast at 7.30am....routine or not I love it.

Each brings us something special. They will never replace the one who has gone before but they bring us the gift of themselves to love as only they can be loved and love us in return.
