A smooth sea never made a skilful sailor.

A strange device appears in  the little hardware store opposite the church. A pizza oven with wok attached ? The two chimneys presumably mean it's for outdoor use. Angus and the PONs inspect it. When asked what it is the woman behind the desk replies '' Don't ask me Love. I only work here part time ".

French use of English . This fitted kitchen might not sell so well in the UK.

At the wine shop the man with the stutter sees us passing and rushes out onto the pavement. '' M'Ongoose. I've taken delivery of something you must try ". So it is that Angus returns home with a bottle of Lebanese wine. '' Open it and decant it at least two hours before dinner. It has a certain robustness ". 'The Font' wonders why you would need to let it breathe. Robustness is an understatement.

Neither the hardware store nor the wine shop provide the PONs with treats. Sophie returns home looking disappointed but vaguely respectable. Thank heavens for the illicit half croissant at the cafe under the arcades.

By dinner time she looks like frightful. Something to do with digging in the garden ?

Bob goes with the flow.

Another quiet day with two lively sheepdogs in deepest, deepest France profonde.

This is an interesting take on dogs memories http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2015/02/150226-dogs-memories-animals-chimpanzees-science-mind-psychology/

Sophie may look frightful, but she looks happy - isn't that the whole point of doing what you enjoy most? Bob looks stern, so we can only assume that the 'flow' were disapproving!
A sweaty kitchen - oh dear - do they give away a free deodorant with every one sold......

A sweaty kitchen? Really don't think that's going to catch on
Sophie and Bob, both gorgeous whatever sort of fur day they are having!

Sophie - looking frightful but happy. Far better than pristine but glum.

Sweaty Cuisine.....no.....just doesn't do it for us.

Surely Angus, you need one of those contraptions to grill outdoors during the summer...especially when your house guests arrive....smile.
I think I see it now, grilled eats from the monster grill and stir-fried sides in the wok accompanied by several glasses of the robust Lebanese wine...what more could you ask for??
Actually you'd better check with red trousers to see if it will fit into his decor plans....tee hee.

The memories of dogs we have known and loved
seem to have been very sharp when food is
involved. And their inner clock always serves them
well in case their memory-lapsed human seems to
be otherwise occupied when mealtime rolls around.

I think dogs just don't feel much of a connection to red and blue squares. Or was it circles?

I quite like Lebanese wine not least because it's usually at least 14%!
