One look says it all.

Sophie heads down to the vets to have her cast removed. The adhesive on the plaster tears her skin when it comes off. The family diva accepts this indignity in pained silence. The leg is however very itchy. She's nibbling at the stitches within 30 seconds of leaving the surgery. The large soft collar goes on in the back of the car.

Her opinion of this development is clear from the less than happy look on her face.

Back at The Rickety Old Farmhouse Bob takes one look at his sister and decides this is one young lady who is best given a wide berth.

To salvage the day there will be some roast chicken with tonights kibbles.

If there ever was an outpouring of empathy and sympathy for poor SOPHIE, and what she has had to endure during these two back-to-back
surgeries (one would have tried patience to the max........but two?????), we send all the love that we can muster up for her. And for you
ANGUS, the FONT, and for dear BOB as well. The end to all this, with strong new knees, cannot come soon enough.......and we hope the time of healing will pass quickly, rather than slowly. From two who truly care, here on the Westcoast of Canada. Courage, SOPHIE, courage!

We think Bob chose the right action.

Both of your dogs do have remarkably expressive faces - I hope they will both be smiling again soon.

Oh, Poor Sophie, that sounds extremely painful. We do hope that there is some more soothing cream to help with this latest indignity.
Big hugs all round for both the family princess and the ever stoic Bob. The occasional sausage might not go amiss under the circumstances.

Poor babe. She has been through the mill but she couldn't have had better carers.
Merlins expression is similar to Sophies, having had 3 cysts removed on Monday.
Distance kisses for both those noses.

Poor Merlin. You will now be experiencing the guilt inducing male PON stare !

The good thing about dogs is they get used used to new routines - like wearing a collar - very quickly. In this respect they are much much easier than little humans.

Yes. He's learning.

You can count on it.

Sausages for the PONs and a bottle of Pomerol for their owners.

Things will improve with the roast chicken.

Nothing happens easily, does it? Poor Sophie. I hope her wound heals quickly so she isn't driven to distraction by the itching. The bone will take longer. Been there, done that. Good luck.

Get well soon sweet Sophie. I hope the chicken went some way towards cheering you up.

Poor Sophie. You've all been through so much. I hope she heals quickly and things get back to normal, at least normal for you 😊❤️

Bless her little cotton socks.
So unfair.

Oh Sophie...Your face does say it all. Sending ear scratches from California.

Sophie's face is the very picture of glum. And who wouldn't feel the same? But now another hurdle cleared and the healing process continues. Many good wishes for all of you!

Those skin issues are quite uncomfortable. Poor dear girl. Not the simplicity of recovery of her first surgery. Food will make things a bit brighter. Any special St. Andrews Day treats?

The look says it all, and it's one that can only be remedied with a good meal!

Gosh, it seems they could have been more careful in both the shaving and now the bandage removal. Her leg looks awful. Poor little thing. Hope salve starts helping soon. As said above, "courage Sophie". Virtual hugs to all.
