Watching passers by.

One of those warm and sunny days when winter turns to spring. The young sparrows can't contain their delight at finding themselves in this big beautiful world. They fly round and round The Rickety Old Farmhouse. Fifty or sixty of them in choreographed chaos. En route they stop and perch on the Acers in the front garden, then the thicket of brambles by the ox track before exploding in a squabbling mass towards the bird feeder. The whole thing is then repeated .... and repeated.

Bob sits on his stump seat, watches passers by and exudes happiness.

The Old Farmer brings out the venerable Ford Transit motor home. He's doing some '' upgrades '' to it in readiness for a '' romantic '' trip with the Belgian lady. The fibreglass around the front roof line has developed a covering of mould. Angus has just the thing for that. He goes home and returns with the recently purchased rechargeable ( and extendable ) brush with the high speed rotating head. The old Farmer spends a happy hour buffing away. '' Looks as good as the day I bought it " the old fellow announces when finished. Angus makes a suitably non-committal noise.

Sophie has a new toy which has become her closest and most intimate friend. When Bob tries to liberate it he is told in no uncertain manner where to go.

So passes a Saturday in deepest, deepest France profonde. After one delayed flight and an even more delayed connecting flight 'The Font' makes it home. Words cannot describe the welcome. Bob sleeps across the dressing room door to make sure his flock doesn't wander in the night.

This has to be one of the funniest pieces of theater ever -  : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kgRFHaNo-Y

So pleased the ROF flock is all together again. But the Old Farmer's wanderlust is still clearly strong. Where will the venerable motorhome next be heading?

Didn't Angus recently purchase a high-powered brush thing? The Old Farmer could have borrowed it....

The Old Farmer's hip surgery is this week, I believe. Good for him to be planning a post-recovery adventure. The video link is marvelous.

Bob and Sophie look happy all over, on such a beautiful day. So thankful The Font is home after her adventures in Scotland. Is Sophie’s latest favorite toy a gift from Scotland?

I had to smile at the Old Farmer's comment that his venerable motor home is now as good as the day he bought it. All things being relative, I remember that it wasn't exactly in showroom condition ! It's good to know that someone has found a use for the rechargeable brush...
Much improved culinary standards now 'The Font' is safely home - no wonder Bob sleeps across the doorway.
The video was hilarious.
