Sophie starts her Sunday morning with the observation that the moles have been busy on the lawn. At least twenty fresh mole hills this morning. This is a cause for much excitement .... and fevered but inept digging.
She is given a quick grooming to remove some of the mud from her paws and muzzle. It goes without saying that the moles are completely safe. Sophie's mole hunting routine is like her C-A-T chasing routine - full throated.
Sophie is told she's a walking advert for having short haired dogs.

Yes, short haired dogs do shed all over the place! Inca Lab moults the whole year round, and I could stuff a pillow after I've groomed her! Like Sophie, half an hour after a copious grooming, I could remove the same amount again.
I was just about to say the same thing about short-haired dogs! Supposedly PONs have hair, not fur, but in any event Cherry doesn't shed and we never get that distinctive wet dog smell I remember from other (short-haired) dogs.
Wow, Angus, your lawn looks a bit like a war-zone, and I agree, that Sophie may lose the battle with them. But we all agree that you can't blame her for trying.
Lala is the colour of a polar bear and not much smaller, being a Mioritic Shepherd cross. This is her first winter with us and we have found she more closely resembles a brown bear after her walks. The amount of mud she brings in on her paws is incredible. Our steam mop needs a holiday.

The scotties are usually and advert for short-haired dogs, but then white Roxy hairs on EVERYTHING counters that argument.
