Intense irritation on the morning radio show that the Americans, and even worse, the Brits, are getting their Covid distribution act together. There is now talk of using the Russian vaccine here. This is somewhat alarming as there are no clinical trials available that would meet EU standards. Politicians seem intent on covering up bad choices with even worse choices. Best comment so far has been a German apparatchik saying that Europe was doing really well and beating Africa in the daily vaccine roll out. This was not reassuring.
What drives the radio presenters irritation is that folks are waking up to the fact that the economy is going to be in lockdown longer than anticipated. The all important summer tourist season looks set to be a disaster. You really don't want to be an incumbent during a pandemic.
Sophie returns to her spot in the dog car. She seems to have accepted this downgrade with good grace. Yesterday I tried to call the garage in Toulouse to find out what kept it off the road for 10 weeks. We still don't know what the problem is/was. The receptionist said everyone was busy but they'd call back. Perhaps the Omerta will be broken today ?

Close up of comical dog, please. Or did I miss an earlier one?
Sophie looks extremely comfortable in the dog car, even though it doesn't have plush white carpets.
Yes please, we'll add to Gail and Bertie's request for a close up of the comical dog. I can't remember if you've mentioned it before.
Hari om
Nope, pretty sure this is our intro to Comical dog...who, as far as my eyes will allow, looks to be a wolf hound... or possibly a small donkey! YAM xx
Lancet reported on tests which showed Sputnik to be 90% effective. I'm assuming these tests were done in the UK or other European labs. Lets hope the car was kept in Toulouse while they awaited factory-direct parts, all shiny and brand new rather than 'refurbished.' Another vote here for a close-up.
Did we meet Comical dog on the trail that runs beside the ROF?
Comical dog may have some poodle in his background? City dog meets country princess. It's probably good that Sophie doesn't want to drink from the stream. One imagines that there may be fertilizer and pesticides from the surrounding farms in the stream after the rain. (This from someone whose dogs drink from a stream which flows by homeless encampments...)
He sometimes appears out of nowhere and disappears again just as quickly. He is a 'free spirit' type of dog in that affable way dogs, with children in the family , are.
I think he's primarily Pyrennean hunting dog with add ons.
The study was certainly written up in the Lancet but was, I think, based on non EU clinical trials.
Comical dog is a fast mover - one of those quart of energy in a pint sized container type dogs.
I shall have the i-Phone with me the next time we head that way.
CD is a difficult subject to photograph.
